I am thinking of getting Ipad pro or ipad air. Does anyone here already try design using figma on Ipad? How is it feels? I found an app called “Figurative” on app store. Really curious about it. Can Ipad become my main design tool?

No, it’s a dramatically inferior experience to even just a laptop. I’m holding out hope for updates someday but for now there’s no effective toolset for Figma on iPad.

Laptop is still the minimum for me. Tablet solutions gain nothing and only add inconvenience, again for me.

I can’t even create a file on ipad.

AFAIK, Figma app, including iPad (which is not desktop app) is just a mirror app with some ability to view documents and play prototypes. The reason you can edit files in browser is that you running desktop-sized website.

You cannot create or modify Figma files using the iPad app. It's just for viewing, adding/replying to comments, and playing prototypes. If you need to create a new file, you'll need to use the browser or desktop app.

March 27, 2024 - Update: I now have access to UI 3 and found that the new UI have “Suggestions” which will definitely make it easier to edit on the iPad (have not had the time to try it on iPad yet). You can now basically get access to all the tools that you would get by right-clicking with a mouse.
