I have purchased a Tempur-Pedic ProAdapt Medium Hybrid mattress and am looking for recommendations on adjustable bases that are compatible with it. I’d love to hear from anyone who has experience with different brands.
Also, is it important to use a Tempur-Pedic adjustable base, or can I use a Sealy or another brand without issues? Would there be any drawbacks?
Appreciate any insights—thanks!

We are going to buy a Tempur-Pedic next week, and I know I want an adjustable base for sure. I don’t really care for any crazy features, I just want something that isn’t going to be high maintenance and won’t break. I don’t mind paying for quality if it’s worth it. I also am big into warranties and don’t want to unintentionally use another brand base and void my mattresses warranty.
Should I look at other brands or get the Tempur-Pedic base too? What other brands should I look at if not?
Also a total dumb question, but all I need for the bed is the adjustable base and the mattress right? Do I need a frame or anything between the adjustable base and the mattress?
Hey,
We have a Tempurpedic coming this week and intend to put it on our Sleep Number base (replacing the awful SN airbed :). I know about the retaining bar and we’ll wait to see if we need that, but how can we tie the two sides of head raise together? (Tempurpedic obvious doesn’t have the two sides split, thankfully).
We have two remotes, and I’m thinking there is probably a way to sync them? I could wire the two sides together, but it seems there should be a software function to do this?
Apologies if someone asked this before - the search results are somewhat overwhelming for SN here!
Thanks!
Keep in mind using your new Tempurpedic on a non-Tempurpedic adjustable base will void the warranty.
u/allantimms what ended up being your fix? We agree...the airbed is awful but love the base. We did not get a split. Curious if your new mattress is working on the base. Thanks!
