Wild coyotes are caught in painful steel traps. Trapped mothers—desperate to get back to their pups—have even been known to attempt to chew off their own legs to escape. Once caught, these animals can suffer for days. Those who don’t succumb to the elements, blood loss, infection, or predators are shot, bludgeoned, or killed in some other horrific way when the trappers return. Every piece of fur trim comes from an animal who didn’t want to die. Here is a video showing what the final moments of these coyotes’ lives are really like. Not sure if you found your answer, but there are furrier stores on Etsy who sell furs with the backing and zips. You just need to either tell them which coat you have (heritage or not) or they list furs already made for heritage coats and furs for non and then buy accordingly. The heritage coats were ones that originally came with furs so if yours didn’t then you’ll want to let them know. The only other thing you’ll want to do is check how long your zipper is (typically 20in for most coats or sometimes 21in, I believe only the chilliwack but am not 100%). Then either buy accordingly or let them know so they can make you one. It’s pretty simple. More on reddit.com

They don’t use fake fur, but yeah the recycled fur is generally getting worse than a few years back. I still see nice ones every now and then. If none of the furs in store look good to you, I’d suggest looking into purchasing aftermarket furs if you buy the fur-less version in store
