It’s true a large portion of Canada Goose’s consumers are Asian; in fact, there are more official Canada Goose stores in China than anywhere else in the world combined. They also have products exclusively in Japan. The hype has died down since the brand’s prime, but at one point it was like the default winter jacket in Canada, so the brand got some hate as people were basically buying it as a status symbol with the distinctive badge. Along with that, a lot of people disagreed with the use of real goose/duck down and coyote fur. Overall I think many designer/high end brands will receive criticism like this just by default. There will always be something of lower price that’s quality is seemingly just as good. It’s been years since Canada Goose has focused solely on performance outerwear for extreme conditions. Not much will beat their flagship parka, the Snow Mantra, but when it comes to things like $500 for a sweater or $1000 for a puffer jacket, there are definitely good alternatives Answer from frjin02 on reddit.com

Why do so many people hate Canada Goose with such a passion?
I heard (dont care enough to check), that they're about a $2000 coat, which is fucking absurd, and are seen as an example of people burning money on something that is WAY overpriced when there are others in need. Personally, I dont care enough to check what they cost or if theres a good reason for them to be so expensive. But if they are that much, and they're purely a luxury item, then yeah, I can see the problem with families that buy them for their tween to show off. More on reddit.com
What does everyone think about the prominence of Canada Goose jackets on campus?
Genuine question bc idk: why are they controversial? More on reddit.com
is the brand dying?
Perception is everything with brands. If removing fur makes good press then it’s going to help in certain circles. People will buy luxury goods regardless of the price. Now that the price has increased, more people will think that Canada goose is even better than your cheaper brands. Generally people don’t care about what is discontinued as long as there are somewhat similar alternatives that will keep you warm. The brand is thriving, as seen by all the fakes posted here and perception is only better than before as Canada goose is seen more luxurious than ever. More on reddit.com

Step by Step, How Canada Goose Supports Killing Coyotes for Jackets
1 month ago - Canada Goose jackets are products of cruelty, and it’s not just coyotes who are killed. The company also uses down from birds who died violently. Geese used for their down are inevitably sent to the slaughterhouse, where standard practice is to hang them upside down, stun them, and then slit their throats.

Why is Canada Goose so hated, especially in Canada itself?
All these comments like "Only Asians wear this brand" or "Eddie Bauer has the same quality for much less money."
I don't get it.
I think you can‘t compare Eddie Bauer, Columbia or similar brands to Canada Goose but thats just my opinion.

Those who can’t afford it will hate. At the end of the day you are supporting a Canadian based company, who makes their products in Canada. 🇨🇦 Unlike their competitors bases overseas.

BREAKING: Canada Goose will no longer use new fur in products from 2022 | Humane World for Animals
PJ Smith, director of fashion policy at the Humane Society of the United States, said, “While we congratulate Canada Goose for taking this step, and are happy to see yet another nail in the coffin for the fur trade, switching to ‘reclaimed fur’ feels like an unnecessarily long-goodbye for this company’s outdated relationship with fur; ultimately their future must be fur-free.
