Someone sent package to india from Canada, sender shared Canada Post receipt with me but I can't find tracking number on receipt. Is there any way to find out tracking number from receipt ?
Im recieving a parcel from canada via cpost (i live in uk) and idk how to track it. I was told the auth# was to track but it doesnt work
I recently sent very important documents using Canada Post (within montreal). I left the letter with them, paid the cost, they gave me the receipt but when i checked the receipt days later, it did not have a tracking number on it. I looked up their website and it said: « The tracking number won’t appear on your receipt if you used one of our prepaid products, but didn’t mail your package at the time of purchase. » What does that mean? Did they mail my package the same day or not? My receipt say i paid for postage on demand. I dont even know what postage on demand means with Canada post. The documents are headed to a government office with tight security so they cant even tell me if they’ve received my documents. Please help
Sent a modest bubble wrap envelope parcel from Alberta to BC on December 19th. It cost around $30. At some point over the next few weeks, I must have tossed the receipt.
Found out yesterday that it hasn't arrived yet; the only peculiarity on the recipient's end is that they recently had the post box parcel key show up in their mailbox, but the corresponding box was empty. I'm not sure if that event was related to my parcel at all, as they were receiving numerous Christmas cards and parcels.
Calling the Canada Post desk at the specific Shoppers Drug Mart I sent it from, the agent was only able to say, "Maybe" to any questions I had about reproducing the receipt or looking up the tracking number to see where this package is, and didn't seem to understand what I was asking, since they kept requesting that I just enter the tracking number online no matter how many times I explained that the tracking number exists only on a receipt in a landfill or recycle depot somewhere.
Is it possible to track this thing down, or is this parcel just permanently in limbo?

So I sent a package out a few months ago, I added tracking and insurance and all that. Then I paid. It was for a refund and now they’re pretending like they haven’t gotten it back.
I know I paid for tracking, and I know I used my small business card/discount. Is there any way whatsoever to find the number if I can’t find where I put my receipt?
Someone sent me a small package (in a padded envelope) — he’s in Sechelt (Sunshine Coast, BC) and I’m in Victoria (Vancouver Island, BC), so not a long journey, but where he lives could be considered more “rural.” He dropped it off after hours on Thursday March 2nd (after 6pm) and provided me the tracking (sent me a photo of the # on the slip, which also has my postal code on it and his, so I feel like it is legit), but when I track the # online as of this morning (Saturday March 4th), it’s still coming up as “We didn’t find an item associated with this number.”
This person has sent me small packages in the past and this has never been an issue.
My assumption is that it just hasn’t been scanned by Canada Post, but should I worry? Or when should I start worrying lol??
Also, if mail is flagged or intercepted, Canada Post would have the associated tracking # in their system, correct?
Thank you :)
Hi there,
Anybody else faced the same issue as mine?
I bought 2 XpressPost enveloppes and put one in the other for some documents return on the spot, thinking I had both tracking numbers on my receipt.
Apparently they only print one of the tracking numbers on the receipt and, after contacting them, can not provide tracking number even with the receipt information,
I wish I had known that and took a picture of the return enveloppe tracking number before closing the one I sent.
Guess I have a Schrödinger document return case now...
I am returning a modem to my internet provider. I provided the number provided by the Internet company to Canada Post, they printed a label and provided me with a tracking number, including a QR code that I can scan to ensure that I'm correctly inputting the 22 digit number with all the hyphens in the right places, etc. However the following day, more than 24 hours later on a normal weekday when Canada Post should be having regular pick ups throughout the day ... when I scan and enter the code into the Canada Post tracking data field, it says: "Item Not Found" and lists a bunch of unrelated, illogical reasons such as: "Sender shipped this item through a service that doesn't include tracking" ???!!! Really??!!! Canada Post can't even recognize its own tracking numbers that it issues to customers itself??!!
Another illogical reason it lists to explain why the tracking number is not recognized: "This item was shipped over a year ago"??!! Really??!! Is Canada Post's technology so outdated that not only is it unable to recognize it's own tracking number that it has issued to a customer that has been entered into its own computer system, but it is also unable to distinguish between an recently issued tracking number and a number that was issued more than a year ago??!!
Other reasons it lists is that tracking number is incorrect, although I entered it directly from Canada Post's own QR code, and also manually entered it, just in case the QR code was faulty. Another reason on the list is that "haven't received this item from the sender" ... which is laughable because in order for Canada Post to issue a tracking code, the item has to first be entered into their own computer database. The very moment the item is entered and a tracking number is issued, the customer should be able to begin tracking the location of their item, even if it only tells them that the item has not yet been picked up from the original Post Office where the item was first processed (similar to the way tracking works on Amazon where customers can see whether or not the item has been shipped, including an estimated date of delivery).
The Tracking page suggested I also fill out a Canada Post survey, which I did, but all it asked is whether or not I received polite service and whether the post office was clean and tidy??!! The survey completely missed the point asking dumb questions geared to force the customer into giving them a high rating because my issue wasn't with the customer service nor whether or not the Post Office is tidy ... it is regarding their outdated, archaic ridiculous malfunctioning tracking system, where not only is it unable to recognize and track numbers issued by Canada Post itself, but it then offers up an absurd list of illogical unrelated reasons worthy of a Saturday Night Live skit, to further aggravate and frustrate the customer!
I sent it out on sept 11 and still hasnt been recieved. And its a phone so of course im on the hook for it. Is there anyway canada post can get me my tracking #? I know the exact date and time amd office i dropped it off at if i gave tjem that info could they look in the system and find that reciept?
Hello,
so i recently ordered something off ebay and the item is being delivered from canada to abu dhabi via canada post.
the day after I completed the payment, I received a notification saying that my tracking info is available.
oddly enough, I got an 18 digit code (instead of 16) and when I try to track the 18 digit code I get the "We didn’t find an item associated with this number."
should I just keep waiting until I see an update or is there something fishy going on here?
Where did you buy the item? Was it a site like eBay? What service does it say the sender sent it by?
Canada Post Tracking is 2 letters, 9 Numbers, 2 letters. If it is 18 digits it is not a Canada Post Tracking number.
You can try one of the universal tracking sites like https://parcelsapp.com to see if it shows up.
Is anyone having issues with Canada post tracking not updating even tho I got a text alert saying my package was delivered to my community mailbox. The tracking number is still active and says it will be delivered tomorrow. I’m so confused has anyone had issues like this before?
I shipped out an item yesterday evening around 7PM EST, the Canada Post employee accepted by package and gave me a receipt with a tracking number (I used expedited shipping, within Canada), when I went home and pumped in the tracking number into the Canada Post website (exactly as indicated on the receipt) it says " We didn’t find an item associated with this number ". I am just wondering if anyone else is having similar problems, perhaps it is a system overload error (tracking numbers aren't being uploaded fast enough)?
It’s probably that is hasn’t been processed into the system yet. If you dropped it off at 7 that most likely means you miss the last pick up of the day so it’s still sitting in the post office and hasn’t reached the processing plant yet so the number won’t be in the tracking system yet
Did you pay for the postage at the post office? Or were you dropping off a package with a pre-paid/printed label?
I live in the United States and I ordered something from Etsy on 8/13 and the seller shipped it via Canada post on 8/16 where a USPS tracking number was generated. No tracking number was provided for Canada post. Is that normal and how long should I expect to wait?
So I shipped out 2 packages this past Saturday and paid for expedited shipping with my small business account. When I go to put these 2 tracking numbers into my app to track, it says the item is not found. I’ve tried again on the website to get the same result, and the website just tells me that the tracking number doesn’t exist. I literally have the receipt in hand and am putting in the number exactly as it’s printed into my app/website. I can’t even open a support ticket to find out what’s going on with my package as it says the tracking number is not valid. Is there anything else I can do?
Yeah some glitch on Saturday for sure same thing happened to me. Generated two labels in the morning and shipped them in the afternoon, watched them be scanned, no tracking updates.
Shipped three things today, all showing updated tracking.
It hasn’t had a scan yet. Pretty normal. You shipped it Saturday like yesterday?
