I am still trying to figure out how Candy Montgomery was found not guilty. Do you think it was because people sympathized with her trauma?Because it was Texas? I just cannot imagine anyone in our current day getting away with taking an axe to someone 41 times without at least second degree murder.
She also left the baby home alone knowing the dad was out of town and she killed the mom. I have no idea how she got off. It makes zero sense. She is a counselor/therapist now. I can’t imagine seeing her as a patient. More on reddit.com
Did Candy Montgomery get away with Murder?
I’m actually surprised there aren’t more for self-defense! Candy and Allan’s affair was done. Candy came clean to her husband about the affair. Candy tells people at the church that she is heading to Betty’s house to get the swimsuit for Betty’s daughter, who is spending the night with them. When at the house, Betty brings a whole entire ax into the house to confront Candy. And about this “overkill”? I do not know how I would act is someone came at me with an ax, in an enclosed room. I know Candy fought for her life that day. It was a tragic situation that occurred that day for everyone involved. Despite Candy sleeping with Betty’s husband and Betty being unlikeable, they did not deserve to die. However, the only reason Betty was killed in her home, by her ax, was because she brought it into the house to attack Candy. It does not make sense that this is anything other than self-defense, hence reasonable doubt and Not Guilty. More on reddit.com
Candy Montgomery’s Acquittal, what is everyone’s thoughts?
Insanity. I just read a book about this case and I’m stumped on how they could allow her to go free. Self defense? She was in the victims home, banged victims husband, brutally over killed her, cleaned the crime scene, showered, didn’t come forward.. that’s just off the top of my head I’m probably missing 7 more things More on reddit.com
