Neither are bagged and both are a joke. I have a hard time believing they even owned a Miele. Or if they did it was a hard-floor only model or something. I've had both in homes with mostly carpet or mostly hard floors. Some people really prefer one over the other. I have always been more concerned about actual functionality and ease of use in my current living space. It really depends on your budget, floorings, and space. I just bought a new vacuum and had this same deliberation. In my current home I have a lot of tighter corners and spaces to navigate with all hard floors and two area rugs\carpets. I was worried a canister would constantly get caught around furniture and corners while trying to follow me. I wouldn't have to worry about that with an upright but still wanted good hard floor performance. I ended up choosing a Sebo Felix due to it's versatility. I can attach the included parquet brush to do most of my floors and then swap out for the power brush for the area rugs. While not as nice as a dedicated canister, I can still detach the floor brush and use it like one for cleaning under the bed, shelves, higher spots, dusting, etc. More on reddit.com
