I just got an a7s and The size is comparable to my ae-1 p. You can also use your old canon glass and manual focus. also if you put The camera in shutter priority, it automatically adjusts The shutter speed so you only have to worry about aperture and possibly iso if it's way too bright or dark. The electronic viewfinder is awesome. Haven't used the camera much yet but can tell I'm already in love with it. my only complaint is that it is less comfortable than a modern canon camera because of my hand size and batteries seen to go fast if you leave the camera on while not taking shots. Also the a7s isn't the best for stills so I'd jump on an a7 or other variant. Beware some have weird auto focus issues that you should be aware of. More on reddit.com

The simple answer is yes! Most cameras do not come with a memory card, so you will have to buy one (and a backup as well). You can still take photos without a memory card, but your images will only be in the camera for a moment, not stored permanently. Check your camera’s manual for memory card requirements.

I’m trying to buy a digital camera, preferably canon but there’s so many that I’m confused. I’m pretty new at cameras/photography and my purpose for buying a camera is just to take cute fun pictures. What’s the difference between the powershot cameras or the elph cameras? Also there’s the ixy/ixus/sx and I’m lost. I’m trying to find one used on eBay up to $250-$300. I found a powershot a2400 and a2600 that are reasonably priced but I’m not sure if they’re worth it. What would be my best bet?

I can understand the sentiment of wanting to use an actual camera instead of a phone. Sometimes a real camera experience, no matter the camera, is just more enjoyable. In that case it’s often hard to beat any of the Canon point and shoots. Canon always make good cameras from the lowest models on up. They are often reliable and produce good images with very pleasing Canon colors. I’d say just get one and try it, they are mostly very similar.
