They haven’t confirmed the release of anything yet. The one that’s been heavily hinted at as being next (from the canonrumors/canonwatch/etc websites), is the R7 - which will supposedly be a crop sensor RF mount. But with the chip shortages and supply problems, it’s really anyone’s guess as to when any of these cameras will be released. More on reddit.com

If you're not going to go with the RP then look at the R8. The RP was my first full frame and held me down for 3 years while I learned a lot. I've had the R8 for about 4 months now. Both are great beginner cameras in the R lineup. More on reddit.com

The RPs an absolute bargain now, it's a joy to use in the real world, it's lightweight, pretty quick in AF-S, fits perfectly in the hand & above all really fun! Look beyond just the spec sheet, the RP is vastly greater than the sum of its parts! It has some nice extras like focus stacking & time lapse. Learn it's minor limitations & it's a fantastic modern full framer. & All those cheaper RF primes are excellent, especially the super wide 16mm. Get the 50mm too & for everyday stuff, landscapes, cityscapes, street, architecture, portraits, macro etc you'll be good to go! The RPs perfect for getting going; Learn your skills & moving subjects/wildlife etc won't be an issue at all either. The sensors DR is perfectly fine 99% of the time, plus the sensor has real character! The 1080s perfectly nice, it's definitely not a 4k camera though! Go for it, & hey if for any reason it's not for you just sell it for what you bought it for, it'll hold £500 or Euros easily. Above all enjoy your journey my friend! 🙏 More on reddit.com

I have a Canon 600D with an ASPC sensor, and I wanted to get a FF camera. All of my lenses are EF mounts, that's why I am looking for a canon.
I've been thinking about the 5D m iv, but then I saw the EOS R and got in love with it. They cost almost the same, what is the better camera?
Is it still a good camera despite it's age?
Edit: I shoot a lot of landscape, portraits, macro, and some wildlife photos.
