TLDR: Do color laser printers use color toner when printing B&W documents?
Our new Canon mf753cdw has used a significant amount of color toner (CMY) even though we generally print documents that are primarily B&W text (except for a few blue hyperlinks). I have not been able to find definitive info on this.
I could see the blue toner getting used in this scenario but all three color toner cartridges have depleted at equal rates. Do color laser printers (and specifically this model) use color toner when printing the black text?
It will print when using B&W mode even of the color toner is empty. If there is color toner, will the printer still use color toner? Seems silly wasteful to use color toner when printing black text.
Hello! I have TS6350 Canon and I have main problem that black and white (even if setup in printer configuration + page printing configuration) was printed by mixing of colors. And now I have blue nearly to end and my printed pages go as red. My solution was - save in black and white with PDF printer, then open PDF saved file and then to print.
Google didn't help in 10 minutes but now I found the solution in one forum and hope it will be useful for somebody and will be saved by Reddit to appear in Google if somebody will have the same problem.
IF YOU MAKE BOTH SIDES PRINTING OR THIS IS SWITCHED ON - IT WILL PRINT BLACK BY MIXING OF COLORS EVEN IF EVERYTHING SETUP AS BLACK AND WHITE.
Incredible, isn't it? And really not a lot of information so you can think a lot to find the issue. So to prevent color mixing do not put print on both sides.
As I understand it is thing for a lot of Canon models and hope will be useful.
