BE WARNED ... IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO READ THE DISPLAY SCREEN ON THIS MODEL (and most likely other Canon printers) without using a flashlight. I spent hours sorting through menus online trying to figure out a solution until finally I was able to connect witha live Canon employee, who informed me that THERE IS NO BACKLIGHT OR ANY OTHER MEANS OF IMPROVING THE BRIGHTNESS. This is like buying an automobile and then finding out that there is no interior lighting system...just use your own flashlight .. August 8, 2025 - I used my mobile hotspot to set it up, but that only set it up as an AirPrint printer and I cannot find a way to download a driver to be able to use it as an offline printer. I'm decently tech literate but not an expert by any means. I don't want to rely on my phone's hotspot every time I need to print something out, that's why I have a USB cable. Is there a solution that I'm just not finding on Google? EDIT 1 hour later: I was on a chat with Canon support and he seems to think my USB dongle is not sending the info correctly.
