Been away from photography for quite some time and recently have jumped back into it to not forget my skills from years past. Looking at the new mirrorless cameras that they're quite nifty and a LOT of advances have been made with both body and the new RF lenses. I shoot with a 5DMK3 and was looking at the R equivalent and it would seem like the R3 = 1Dx series, R5 = 5D series, R6 = 6D series and R7 and R10 = xxD line and R100 = rebel series?
Did I get that right? I'm floored by what these new bodies can do and while I won't be giving up my trusty 5DMK3 anytime soon that its just cool to see the strides that Canon/Nikon and alike have made.
I am a photographer for the military and have been using a Canon EOS R5 for the past few years as a part of the job. I absolutely love it- great for both photo and video in my experience. However, I'm leaving soon to become a civilian again and going back to my little Nikon D3400 leaves a lot to be desired. I plan to continue doing photography as an event photographer (as well as landscapes, architecture, animals, street, and macro on the side), so I will need to get my own upgrade. I'm thinking about sticking with the Canon R series because of how nice the R5 has been to use. However, I was wondering, which R camera is the best in y'alls opinion? And why?
