Been shooting with the EOS R for the last few years while overseas. I typically use it for street photography, portrait and some concert photography. Very rarely do I use it for sport or extreme action shots.
I've been on the fence the last few weeks with upgrading from the EOS R to the R6 Mark II. I can get around $900-1000 for my R so upgrading to the R6 Mark II would be roughly a $1500 upgrade.
My biggest gripes with the EOS R have been its autofocus unreliability in street settings while I'm moving. Very rarely on busy streets do I have time to stop, set and shoot and I think the new subject tracking on the R6 Mark II might help with that with the tracking and IBIS. I also have not been a big fan of the feel of the EOS R vs when I had the 5D Mark III in terms of usability and physical placement of controls. Last gripe I have with the EOS R is just the dynamic range isn't the best and in situations where I'm dealing with dark shadows and bright LEDs that matters a lot to me.
So wanted to get input from ya'll to see what might be the way to go. Unfortunately I dont have a lot of time to wait after release because I'll be back overseas to shoot 2 weeks after it releases.
Thanks for your time!

I currently shoot with an R6 and I have a few RF lenses as well as a few EF lenses.
Is the R6 iii much better? If I can sell my R6 used, is it worth the $800ish more to buy the R6 iii?
Hello, I have been an Canon RP shooter for the last year and am considering an upgrade to either the R6 or the R6 mk ii. Reasons for upgrading would be, IBIS, longer battery life, more comfortable form factor, dual card slots, and better dynamic range. I don't currently do much video but like the idea of being able to do video in the future if I choose to. One of the reasons I am considering the original R6 is price. I've noticed that used R6's have dropped in price significantly since the introduction of the Mark II, as expected. Especially in the UK where I am currently living, Park Cameras has a used R6 for £1,559, in "Like New condition." Whereas the R6 MK II is currently retailing for £2,779. Is it worth still considering an original R6 in 2023? Am I missing something?
