Rumor has it that the Z8 should be announced/ released this year. If I were buying now, I would wait to see what that body offers before buying. Supposedly it should be announced in March and is supposed to be the successor to the D850 on the mirrorless system. Definitely worth your consideration! More on reddit.com

Overall the R5 is still better camera. So many issues and deal breakers with the Sony. It has bad rolling shutter during video and with the electronic shutter, high FPS images are highly compressed, 8K video has a big crop and no RAW option, etc. It should also be mentioned, Canon the the largest and arguably best lens ecosystem. I know Sony owners who use Canon lenses because they are more affordable, better, or not offered by Sony. What Canon did, that Sony didn't do with A lenses, is make it so once an RF adapter is added to newer EF lens, it becomes an RF lens with full functionality. Even 3rd party EF lenses on RF cameras don't suffer from the restrictions Sony puts on 3rd part E mount and A mount lenses. More on reddit.com

August 25, 2024 - 3656.95 is ludicrous for the same camera they were selling for over a month at 3295.99...I did see the two refurbished on their site, but I'm not comfortable buying refurbished, especially at re-sale time...Refurbished to me is the same as used and buying used if not below at least half off the original price, I pass..Just me, I guess...Sony was the same way on their A7Rv is 400 higher now than it was a week ago..Now the Canon R5Mkii at 4300.00 is well just about the outrages mark..I will do without, I refuse to pay these prices...But, thank-you !!!!
