Has anyone here switched from having a Canon R5 to a Nikon Z8? What do you like about your new Z8? What do you miss from the R5? I'm a long time Canon user but have always loved the crispness and colours of Nikons SOOC.

I was using my friends r5 before I got my z8 (for video only since I had a d850) and honestly Canons video settings kill me. I have to enable a specific mode to the choose high frame rate mode. It's the weirdest thing and never made sense to me why they wouldn't just list codec - frame rate like Nikon does. Other than that the r5 is fine. I'm still a bigger fan of Nikon's ergonomics , dials, and the shutter button which is too mushy on every canon I've tried but that's just my personal gripe

Nikon Z9 shooters - Any experience vs Canon R5 or Sony A1 for weddings?
I switched from using Z6II's to Canon R6 mk2's and there's a noticeable difference in the autofocus, the Canon can lock onto the eyes (and stay there) much, much better. I had the latest firmware on the Z6II and everything. My second camera was a Z6I and it was truly an awful camera in the dark. I know the Z8/Z9 is better but, the R6ii is half the price basically. Also just want to throw out there that Canons RF lens lineup is much more impressive than Nikon's, and the adapter to EF is about half the width/weight of the FTZ adapter, making using DLSR lenses easier to use as well. Overheating numbers for the R5 are inaccurate to the latest firmware "the EOS R5 can only record 8K/30p and 4K/60p for up to 20 minutes before it overheats" 4k60p has always been one of the better modes, better than 4k24 HQ. So I don't know where they got that from https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/EOS-DSLR-Mirrorless-Cameras/R5-firmware-1-6-Overheating-Fixed/m-p/386308 Failed mention the 30 min record limit of R5. 7.5 min for 120fps. No mention of raw video from the R5 or z8. The z9 has raw video right, or did that change with the Red lawsuit? More on reddit.com

A cheaper, more compact Z9. Looks like it has better video features than most of the competition (but it's a few hundred more expensive). Do any other cameras have built-in waveform display?
