You're talking about C-log3 and LUTs but your sample shows 100% 8k footage as if it is about resolution/clarity which is not really what we began with. First of all, have you tried using the official LUT provided by canon for C-log3? Have you tried shooting c-log with view assist on? For your 2nd issue regarding resolution you need to provide more information - What lenses are you using? What are your exposure settings? Are you looking at proxy footage by accident? What does the footage look like before and after LUT application? Which compression method did you use? More on reddit.com

I’m not sure what to use for this camera. Just got it and played around with different conversions. The conversion to 709 had INSANE reds and purples. BT2020 seemed to look better. Any recommendations?

Have you downloaded the latest Canon LUTs ? There should be a compatible conversion LUT in there. I use the 33 grid folder and try one of the CLog3 CinemaGamut to Rec709. Of course you need to have your display properly calibrated and hardware to bypass OS color management. Edit: Found a recommendation on Canon forums You will find a LOT of LUTs in there. I recommend: 3dlut (1d is obsolete) 65grid-3dlut (the others ae fairly obsolete, but if you have an old monitor e.g. which only supports 33 grid, you would use that) full-to-full-range (only choice 😉 then the colour space conversion you want. For example, if you shot log3, you would use "CinemaGamut_CanonLog3-to-BT709_WideDR_65_FF_Ver.2.0.cube"
