I'm interested in knowing why it's the only Netflix Canon camera that is not approved to shoot in RAW 🧐 perhaps because tests such as those from CineD show that the R5/R5C show rather noisy RAW imagery compared to XF-AVC with internal noise reduction. More on reddit.com

C70 with speed booster unless you are banking on selling your R and using the new camera for stills. The DGO is just killer and image quality is top notch for a sub $10k camera. Once you get a camera with internal ND you will never look back. The RAW and XF-AVC codecs are super robust and amazing onto SD cards. R5C is a great hybrid camera but the 8k is overkill for 99% of applications. CLOG2 is also the best gamma for maximum DR in the canon system. Another point for c70 and you don’t even need to shoot RAW to get it. More on reddit.com

Canon says the new march 2023 firmware for the R5C improves image quality in clog3. Could be that that is why Netflix approves the camera now.
For now nobody seems to have compared what exactly changed in the image quality and Canon also doesn't give any more information.
A firmware update for anamorphic lenses ny Sirui with a 1.6 stretch would be cool. Also unsqueeze in photo mode would be so useful!

I reached out to Canon to ask what exactly has changed and they said it's now a cleaner image in the dark areas, less noisy. Makes sense why RAW isn't Netflix approved because it's much more noisy compared with the noise reduction in the new firmware update XF-AVC and MP4.
