Yes. Was an R shooter with the R6 as my video main. Upgraded to the R5 and the R6II. You will not be disappointed. Other than the resolution being higher on the R5, it’s a beast at everything . AF is amazing, locks on. Color is great from Auto profile all the way to 6K RAW external. FAST FAST FAST. When you feel it go full ES or even mechanical vs the R… it’s sex. Superb. Sharp. The 24mp beats the 30mp in the R in every way, especially when paired with newer high end L EF or RF glass. Can’t go wrong and prices are stupid low right now. More on reddit.com

Some of these will likely be fixed with an A7IV but all rumors seem to indicate it will be going up market and be around $2500 USD which means it will be a lot higher here (I’d assume it would match the R6 which is $3400 AUD at time of writing).

I currently use an original EOS R, which I've always liked quite well but has always struggled a bit with sports/action stuff. I've been thinking about upgrading to an R6 MKII. Basically what I need is a "do it all" camera that works with a one-man, fast workflow setup for both photos and video. That is to say I need the camera to do the following:

Be small enough to do relatively unobtrusive street photography (my favorite style of photography)

Action/sports. I sometimes do photo and video stuff for parents at local middle/high school events. I'm looking for something that does really clean 1080p, or possibly a nice 4K24. I also need the still photography to have a good drive speed, and fast AF for sports games (football, basketball, baseball, etc).

Macro. Preferably with in-camera focus stacking

Good skin tones straight out-of-camera if needed.
Based on looking at some test footage, I feel pretty confident that the R6 MkII is a good choice, but just in case I've overlooked something I wanted to ask here.
If it matters, I own a bunch of EF and a few RF lenses already, plus a handful of batteries for the EOS R that should make transitioning to an R6 MkII reasonably straightforward. I pretty much buy Canon lenses only, so I'm not super concerned about the lack of 3rd party RF glass. My budget is $2,000 for the body. I'm planning to take some time with this and probably buy a used or certified refurbished camera. Maybe I'll see if I can pick up something on a Black Friday or Christmas sale.
Does anybody have any negative experiences with the R6 MkII that should scare me, or am I overlooking anything that might make the R6 MkII bad for my use cases?

I'll 2nd NOT using 1080p. You'll just be super disappointed when you get home and start editing. 4K all day! You can always downscale 4K, but you can never upscale 1080p!

You will need an adapter to use EF lenses on any Canon mirrorless camera, but it’s only $99 and you won’t lose any quality.
