Hellooooo! I am very interested in starting photography and love the looks of how others have done photography with these two cameras. I am interested in doing side gigs where I am able to photograph families and loved ones. I’ve done some research and know these cameras are very similar. Does anyone have any recommendations, suggestions, tips, about these cameras that sold them over the other?

Seconding the idea of holding and playing with the cameras first. On the spec side, the R6mk2 is newer and arguably has better auto focus. On the other hand, the z6ii has been superseded by the z6iii, so will be substantially cheaper. I have a z6ii and nearly traded it in when the r6ii came out as it would have been an upgrade. Decided not to and bought more Z lens instead.

Hi all!
I currently have a Nikon Z50 and I'm looking to upgrade to either the Nikon Z6III or the Canon R6 mk2 - the middle range powerhouses.
I have no attachments to the Nikon ecosystem so I'm willing to convert to Canon or any other brand. I will be selling my Z50 and it's lenses so I'm not drawn to buying a new Nikon for this reason.
I don't care about the video performance of either of these systems as I only shoot photos. I shoot a mix of landscapes, music events and sports (ice hockey and football) so I need a camera that can can perform really well in these situations so I'm particularly looking for:
-
really reliable autofocus
-
great image quality for landscapes
-
nice low light performance
And I don't particularly mind about the following:
-
the price (they're quite similar)
-
video capabilities
Any help on which one to go for would be greatly appreciated, I'd love to hear if anyone has used these two cameras! I'm also interested in hearing about the Z6III's autofocus as there seems to be a bit of a mix of opinions on this. Thanks!
