I want a home photo printing setup – but do I go with Canon or Fujifilm? | T3
November 27, 2025 - The Canon Selphy CP1500 is a much more traditional printer setup, with proprietary paper and ink cartridges. By contrast, the Fujifilm Instax Wide Link Printer uses instant film, but achieves a comparable result.

May 11, 2020 - The Canon is slightly better in print quality because it has a wider color range and produces finer details. It's also more cost-effective than the Fujifilm printer as its photo paper is less expensive.

Fuji x-t3 with the 18-55 f2.8-4 kit lens will blow any canon apsc with a kit lens out of the water! I think you can get that combo now for around a 1100$ More on reddit.com

Canon Selphy cp1500 vs Fujifilm Instax Sp3 | DPReview Forums
Hey guys! I've owned the Fuji SP3 for around 2 years I think. I've actually grown quite fond of it. The size makes it possible to bring on social ocassions and its easy to get photos out either from my fuji camera or phone. I also have a few albums that I put photos from vacation in. It's not... Portable photo printer. Which one do you use and why? I'm stuck between the Kodak Mini 3 Retro and Instax Link Wide.
I have a Canon Selphy CP1500 and an Instax Mini Link 2. I much prefer the quality of the Selphy over the Instax, like it's not even close. More on reddit.com

Canon vs Fujifilm

Canon's R10 and R7 are both excellent cameras, and competitively priced, but you'll have a lot more options with the Fuji system, both with bodies and lenses.

You'll likely get better AF and tracking from the Canon cameras, though, especially for the money.

I'm an amateur photographer and wanted to buy a mirrorless aps-c camera. Fujifilm vs Canon? What are the pros and cons? Thank you for the answers.

Right now I'm leaning towards Fuji but the lens seemed to be more costly for me.

Edit: Thank you for the replies once again. It seems Fuji lenses are not that relatively expensive after all.

Canon Selphy cp1500 vs Fujifilm Instax Sp3 | DPReview Forums
January 10, 2024 - I own a CP1200 & an SP-3 (now dead, Fuji offered to replace it for $75 and I've not gotten around to it) & the newer Square Link version of the Fuji which does have a nicer app. Selphy dye sub prints are undoubtedly better and larger but the printer is more like transportable than portable, you need a flat surface and nearly a minute to put out a print, there's a battery option but it's good for maybe a pack of paper or two at most.

December 4, 2023 - Canon Selphy CP1200 is my favorite so far. Why? Because it accepts a good old SD card. (And the photo materials are actually decently priced, unlike those of the Instax) ... Nice. That one is a little bigger than I am looking for at the moment. I do eventually want to get one that size or slightly bigger to print bigger photos. ... First time trying the instax square printer!

January 20, 2023 - Prints I’ve made from the X-Pro 2 and XT-2 both on Epson printers and through professional labs have been fantastic. I have no reservation about printing at up to 40”. As with all modern mirrorless cameras, the electronic shutter can fall victim to rolling shutter when shooting fast moving subjects and produce banding in some lighting conditions (fluorescent). Every system has compromises. So that was it for me. My Canon gear was sold or gifted and I haven’t looked back.

The 3 Best Instant Photo Printers of 2026 | Reviews by Wirecutter
February 4, 2026 - The Canon Selphy CP1500 produced the largest, sharpest, most color-accurate prints of any portable photo printer we tested. It prints on 4-by-6-inch glossy paper, and unlike Fujifilm’s Instax Mini Link 3 and Link Wide, it lets you print directly from an SD card or from a computer via USB in addition to Wi-Fi, using the Canon Print app (iOS and Android).

r/Cameras on Reddit: Instant camera or Bluetooth photo printer?
January 22, 2024 -

I’m looking for a birthday gift for my wife. I’m currently looking at these instant cameras: Instax mini 90, But probably a Fujifilm Instax sq6

For Bluetooth photo printers, I’m looking at Kodak Step, HP sprocket, Fujifilm Instax Link 2, Fujifilm Instax SP-3, but I’m mostly looking at the Fujifilm Instax Link Wide.

Honestly I’m not sure the quality of instant printers printing iPhone pictures, vs instant cameras. I think the ability to print multiple copies of previously taken pictures is sweet, but I doubt it feels the same.

Anyways if you have a different suggestion or want to weigh in, please comment below. Thanks

Hey everyone, thinking about switching to Fuji from Canon.

To the people who switched from Canon to Fuji, what are some of the pros and cons that you've experienced?

It depends on what Canon body you're switching from. My Canon experience: I've used pretty much every pro and semi-pro digital body since the 5D Classic and have been shooting with Canon FD bodies since 2006. Fuji's control scheme was easy for me to get used to, but that's because I've shot with Canon FD bodies for so long that it's second nature. The only thing that got me at the beginning was that the aperture ring goes in the opposite direction. I find that mirrorless cameras, in-general, tend to have a slight delay and lag. They're not quite as responsive as the old Canon DSLRs, but I find the higher-end Fujis to be overall faster and more accurate. The EVF on Fujis is standard-fare for most mirrorless, but they're still very good on the high-end bodies. I liked them better than the EVFs, on early Canon mirrorless full-frame, and are much better than what was on the Sony A7III and earlier. Sensor-performance on Fujis was so close to Canons, even their full-frame DSLRs, that I didn't even consider it as a deciding factor. Depending on the body, one may be slightly better than the other, but I honestly can barely tell. Canon ergonomics are second-to-none imo, and certainly a big deciding factor for many. Fujis are nice but their design is certainly more form over function, but I believe they strike a good balance. The one thing that really took me some time to get around and I had become accustomed to was the lack of Custom Mode dial positions that you find on Canons. C1, C2, C3 and such. Most Fujis don't have that and it really cuts down on your speed and flexibility if your work requires it. Personally, I was at a point that I no longer needed it so much, but it was a noticeable loss. If you have any specific questions, let me know.

It comes down to this: if you’re a professional and need a tank of a camera that’s super reliable, go Canon. If you’re more of a hobbyist, Fuji is better

December 26, 2019 - While the Canon and Polaroid are pretty comparable to a portable hard drive, the Fujifilm feels closer to single-serving cereal boxes in size. While the size is definitely noticeable, the weight difference is pretty negligible given that none of these printers are heavy by any stretch of the word.
