May 1, 2023 - A community for Canva users looking to learn from others and share work we're proud of. Your go-to place for resources and conversation around graphic design on Canva. ... My girl gave me a picture of her and her ex...she wants me to remove her ex from the pic (glad to do it). Its kind of a tricky one i guess because its them standing real close together, he is to her side with his arm around her with his hand on her hip. I can use the magic eraser part going over the bulk of him on her one side, but thats just leaving a weird smudgy blur vs seemlessly replacing it with the rest of the matching background like I see happening in all the video tutorials I watched.

If the image is of low quality, the Magic Eraser tool may not work as expected. This is because the tool relies on the contrast between the object being removed and the background. If the contrast is low, the tool may not be able to detect the edges of the object.

Want to erase something from a photo and replace it with another object instead? Magic Edit(opens in a new tab or window) lets you replace or add new objects like they’ve always been a part of your image. Add a palm tree to your beach photo, replace the picture on the wall, or add birds to the sky. Just brush over the area you want to edit, type what you want to see, and watch the magic unfold. Not only that — add further tweaks to your photo with the manual eraser.
