Hi, firstly pc specs are i5 12th gen, 8gb ram, 3060 gpu and CapCut upgraded to latest version.

Upon launching, it will immediately get stuck on "Environment Testing" where I have to close it and then it will open main window.

Then upon entering the software, it will lag for a bit. Then when I import videos and other stuffs into timeline, it will become slow for some seconds. When adding effects, transitions it will become slow for a bit and then it will work.

What I am trying to say is it is NOT smooth. It was not like this on the earlier versions.

Since the last couple of months, it started getting slow.

Anyone else face the same thing? What is the solution?

I have a Lenovo Legion laptop - 13900HX, 16GB RAM and RTX 4080 and a basic M2 15” MacBook Air. Both struggle to do basic edits but the footage is SLog 3 10bit 422 (max bit rate) so presume they would struggle a bit.

I’ve ordered 64GB DDR5 6400 for the Lenovo. Should this make things less stuttery or should I get a higher end Mac? I was looking at entry M2 Pro Mac Studio. I don’t want to get into Proxies etc so just want hardware that will cope.

I typically just have one video layer, a music layer, some text maybe and an adjustment layer for my LUT - nothing too complex.
