Capital One auto used to be a real approval where they would send you an actual check that you could take into the dealer as your financing, and so it used to be a really useful tool for negotiating and making them match your rate. Nowadays though, it's just some pre-approval network used in conjunction with dealers to get you to visit, almost useless. Such a shame. More on reddit.com

Theres nothing, i don't know where to go. Please help.

I was pre-approved with Capital One for an auto loan. I found the exact car I wanted on the app, and saw that my APR would be 3.9%. Days after I prequalified, I went to the dealership for the car. After running my application with the same terms I used on the app, they said Capital One returned an 8.6% APR and advised me to take a deal with their local bank for 6.6%. I asked them several questions about why my Capital One rate wasn’t honored since nothing about my credit had changed since the approval and even showed them their car and the terms I was approved for, but they claimed it was common for rates to increase after hard credit pulls and they couldn’t do anything about it. I walked away with a loan from their bank, but can’t help but wonder why the rates were so drastically different than what I was quoted. Is this normal? Anyone else encounter the same issue? Thanks in advance for the insight.

Cap1 auto navigator is a PRE approval. It's not an approval. Look at the paperwork. They say that your rate isn't final and may change due to deal structure, amount down, final cost of the vehicle, etc.

I went to check my auto loan in the app and it’s completely disappeared.
I tried calling the number for customer service with the auto finance team and it says their phone service is undergoing maintenance until 3 PM EST.
I’m concerned because I was behind on my auto loan due to layoff but I’ve been keeping contact with them. When I try googling why it might be missing, other third party sites suggest repossession or charge-off for being a reason why the loan details aren’t showing, but I haven’t been notified of anything from capital one.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue right now? Should I be concerned? I can’t contact anyone right now so I’m completely blind to what’s happening.
ETA: I have credit cards through Capital One and can still view those without issue, it’s strictly my auto loan details that are missing.

Oh my god me too! I was freaking out. I tried to chat with customer service but they could only handle credit cards and they gave me a number to call but it’s the weekend so it wasn’t very helpful. I hate to just wait and see but there isn’t much that can be done.
