Hey guys, I got my first credit card (Capital One Platinum) a week or two ago, and even though I've made payments toward my balance — the payment is posted, the balance is paid off — my available credit doesn't go back up.
I've tried to call Capital One's customer service lines but it's all automated and there's never any option to speak to a real person.
How can I talk to a real representative? Should I call the credit card fraud line and then ask them to give me a direct number to credit card customer service?

Calling the number on the back of your card should get you to customer service. Once a payment posts, it may take a few days for the available credit to clear -- especially on a new account, or if you make an unusual payment amount. Basically, Capital One will wait to ensure the payment isn't going to be returned.

No need to call. Extended holds on checks is increasingly common. Log in again to see if the available date has changed. Also, since the 16th was a Saturday, possibility it truly becomes available Monday morning. Customer service reps likely can't expedite the matter. More on reddit.com

I have the Venture X, Savor, and both a checking and savings account with Capital One and honestly the customer service has been great. I do think though that Venture X customers get preferential customer service and are guaranteed US based "elite" representatives. So, your mileage may vary.
