Is there really no ATM fees for Capital One 360 Checking?
I was in Japan this past March and I only withdrew cash from 7-11 ATMs. Never got charged any fees, and I used my capital one debit (360 checking) :) More on reddit.com

How do you use your card internationally?
There are no foreign transaction fees with capital one, which is great. You’ll get a notification of the charge amount first in the local currency, and then you’ll get a notification of the dollar amount, that is what will hit your account. Some places will ask to charge you to convert into your home currency, never do that, instead, pay in the local currency using your cap one cards. More on reddit.com

Just got the email that my capital one card is switching to Discover. This is a critical blow as most of my time is spent traveling.
The no foreign atm fees was clutch. FWIW, this is not changing. Capital One is still a member of the Allpoint and MoneyPass ATM networks. If you can find an ATM that is part of those networks, it will accept even your Discover debit card. More on reddit.com

So pretty much the title and probably a dumb question. The capital one website says I can use my savor card with no issue internationally with no foreign transaction fees. So if I'm traveling through Qatar and I want food at the airport I can just swipe my card as normal and it just charges automatically in local currency? Or does it convert into dollars or something?
