So pretty much the title and probably a dumb question. The capital one website says I can use my savor card with no issue internationally with no foreign transaction fees. So if I'm traveling through Qatar and I want food at the airport I can just swipe my card as normal and it just charges automatically in local currency? Or does it convert into dollars or something?

Charge everything in the local currency and Mastercard will do the conversion to USD without any fees. You’ll be charged more or less the USD equivalent that you see on Google, give or take a few dollars. Neither Mastercard nor Capital One will charge for the service. When travelling, merchants may ask you if you want them to convert the currency to USD and bill you in USD. Decline this service because they jack up the exchange rate in their favour so they can profit off you some more. Just pay in the local currency and let Mastercard convert the currency at a much more favourable rate. The USD amount will appear on your statement and online banking but you can call customer service to confirm the original currency and amount for any transaction if you need to for any reason.
