Capital One

I've been having the same exact issue you described for the last two weeks. The app works fine, but not from a computer. I have tried on windows and Mac machines, Edge, Firefox, Opera, Chrome, with and without incognito. The support team said this is a known issue, but I didn't know that it's been going on for almost a month. More on reddit.com

Try these steps: Ensure you have a working mobile number on your profile where you can receive text messages (AT&T,Verizon, T-Mobile, etc.). Don't use VoIP number. Call Capital One and update, if not done. Now, use Firefox browser on any device. Go to capitalone.com, click sign in and click on Forgot Username link I am not exactly sure of following steps. I would think you can fetch username and then set a password. Use a very simple password meeting the requirements. On your smartphone, iOS or Android - install Capital One mobile app. If already installed, delete all the app data including cache. Give all permissions to the app when prompted. Use above credentials to login to the app. Don't make any account changes for a day or two. Continue to use Firefox browser only sol you are are recognized by Capital One and not asked to reset password. Once you are comfortable, you can change password. Hope this works! More on reddit.com

The app felt extremely outdated After having used both Treasury Direct and the pre-update Alliant website, nothing feels out of date to me. and I couldn’t find the cash back bonuses and rewards. A lot of the issues people have with Capital One have to do with how CapOne “buckets” consumers. If you have a lower-tier card such as Platinum or Quicksilver One, it’s likely going to be difficult for you to grow that card to a huge limit, and you’re most likely going to start with $300 or $500 and go up to a maximum of around $3,000 from there. If you receive an offer to convert to something else (say, Platinum -> regular Quicksilver, or Quicksilver One -> VentureOne), you will remain in the “subprime” bucket even though you have a “better” product now. If the card number starts with 5178 05xx, it’s a subprime tier product. If you have a higher-tier card such as something from the Venture or Savor family, or the regular Quicksilver, your odds of starting with a higher limit and getting better increases are much better. Capital One can be a great choice if you’re new to credit or rebuilding credit, but I don’t think they’re anyone’s first choice once better cards can be obtained. More on reddit.com
