I have a chase sapphire preferred, discover it, and Wells Fargo platinum card. I am thinking about getting either the savor one or the venture one card. I generally prefer travel benefits to Cashback, but I’m still learning how to compare these benefits so I’m not sure.
It does seem like the venture one would pair better with my existing cards. Chatgpt agrees lol, and suggested that I use the discover it card for rotating Cashback categories, the venture one for everyday expenses, and the chase sapphire preferred for travel expenses. And keep the Wells Fargo as a back up.
I asked it to make a plan if I switched out the venture one with the savor one, and it said to use the savor one for dining and entertainment.
It said based on the cards I have, the venture one would be the best to pick. Do y’all agree?
I am a college student, only have 1 cashback credit card with BofA and between a 750-780 credit score. my spending isn’t that big, just regular bills like internet, rent, phone bill, gym membership, groceries, etc. I’ve been looking into building something, getting some points while just paying these day to day things. Would getting the VentureOne and start building make more sense or wait couple years until I can afford the yearly 400 bucks fee? I think getting the VentureOne makes sense, but just wanted a second opinion. I know in the future I would like to get the VentureX, and when the time comes would closing down the VentureOne and getting the VentureX be a smart move? what do you guys think? Thank you guys!

I currently have the Venture card - I’ve had it for I think coming up on 3 years. However, I recently had an incredibly complicated, long, and irritating back and forth with CapitalOne after my travel points were used fraudulently. This kind of put a bad taste in my mouth and I’m looking to move away from this card and probably downgrade instead of cancel so that I can still get points and have no overseas transaction fees. The only major difference i’m seeing is the 1.25 vs 2 miles per dollar on every purchase. I should add- I’ve been using this as my primary card but am now going to switch to use it only while traveling or making big, fun purchases. Should I keep my venture and just pay the $95 annual fee or downgrade?
New to this card but had a preapproval. What all can I do and how can I maximize the benefits? $3000 limit.
Firstly, please understand this post is not a criticism and is instead a genuine question. My questions comes down to my understanding of the Venture card. It earns 2 miles per dollar. Miles are worth one penny apiece ONLY if redeeming towards something travel related, past or future. That’s fine for travelers, but it costs a $95 annual fee. This compared to the WF Active Cash, Citi Double, or PayPal MasterCard (all 2% actual cash, not required to be used against travel) doesn’t make sense to me. They don’t charge a fee and their rewards are worth more due to their flexibility. Once again, this post is not me talking down to Venture cardholders, but asking why you use one vs one of the aforementioned. As a quick example, if I have $500 in WF Cashback, I could easily apply that to a previous hotel stay or plane ticket, or even skip the middle man altogether and just get a check. Can someone help me understand?
I have CSP (got the 100k offer) and want to get a similar travel credit card for my girlfriend. She has a spending of ~$4000 coming up and wants to get some intro bonus out of it. Since, I have CSP, I do not think it makes sense to get her the same. I am confused between Venture and Autograph Journey. Venture seems a better option as we will get 75,000 miles even if we missed the $250 travel credit. Autograph Journey just fails to impress me.
Hi here is my current set up:
Marriott bonvoy boundless Chase freedom unlimited Chase sapphire preferred Capital one venture
Apple Card
I am wondering if I should cancel my venture card. I used to have the venture X then downgraded, but I have gone all in with chase UR points. I do not use the venture card and I do not want to pay the annual fee.
Thanks in advance for the input!
I saw that Capital One Venture is currently having a deal where you get -75,000 miles after spending $4000 -$250 Capital One Travel Credits which can be used your first year
Was wondering if it is worth getting if I already am in the Chase Ecosystem?( I have the Chase Freedom Unlimited and Chase Sapphire Preferred)I like the Chase Travels partners more but I feel like this is a really good deal to miss out on.
I know this has been asked many times in this subreddit, but I wanted to post here and get opinions from people. I am in the market for a new credit card. I checked on pre-approval portal and I am eligible.
I also travel, internationally once a year and domestic once or twice a year (say from west to east coast).
Right now, I have an American Express gold card that I use for takeout and groceries because it gets 4X points. It has a $325 fee, but I utilize it by using it on everything that it covers. The customer service is top notch.
Other than that, I have an X1 card, which is great because it gets flat 2X points on everything and a lot of times per week or two I get boost which is 5X for gas or 3X for using Apple Pay or 4X for spending above $500. It has no annual fee. These are my 2 primary cards.
I have a Discover card that I have had since it was my first card, I have an American Express blue cash card. It is a no fee card. I don’t know which one is it and then I also have an Apple Card. I also opened a chase freedom flex while I was in college, so I also have that. All of these are the cards that I never use or haven’t used in a while.
Is it worth it to get this Ven.X $395 annual fee card even though it gets me back $300 through cash back considering my travel and the lounge and other perks that come with it?
I don't travel much but it would be nice to bank those points so I can upgrade to first class if I decide to take a vacation. Is the Venture one a good card?
I would like to know your thoughts on Capital One’s Venture card’s before applying. Did you have a Capital One credit card previously before applying? Or, no?
anyone catch the new additional offer with capital one venture (not venture x) i caught it on YouTube last night , an additional $250 to use on Capital One Travel in your first cardholder year, started yesterday 2/18 for a limited time anyone think its worth wild (plus the 75,000 bonus miles )?
I keep getting emails for CO and decided to look into what they offer. I was surprised to see the Venture one rewards with no fee 20,000 bouns offer and 1.25 miles for every dollar spent and no apr for the first 18 mo
My Fiance recommended we get a wedding expenses card that we can use the points to go on a honey moon. This seemed to check all the boxes, wanted to hear what you guys think.
Also took advantage of Amex and Chases $300 bouns for opening a checking account. Bouns points to chase for paying out within a week of hitting there requirements, apparently amex can take up to 8-10 weeks to pay out (boo)
I am in the market for a new credit card. I checked on pre-approval portal and I am eligible. I also travel 2-3 times a year. I have couple of Bank of America credit cards. After getting this one, it will be my primary card for everything. Just wanted to know from the existing users, if it is worth the hype as it also comes with a $395 annual fee.
Good evening everyone. I was looking to add a travel rewards credit card and thought of the Venture Card (not Venture X or VentureOne). Reviews seemed overall positive from non-sponsored articles that discuss pros and cons. However, reviews seem mixed from actual Venture users. Some blasted customer service (honestly doesn't everyone complain about that with ANY company) and others cited disappointing credit limits/increases. I feel conflicted because I love the card's design but also don't want to regret receiving it afterwards. Does anyone here have personal experience with this card? Any recommendations for alternatives? Thank you.
RANT/QUESTION:
I know the question of “which cc is best for me” yada yada is all over reddit. HOWEVER i am here to report that CAPITOL ONE VENTURE is not doing the job we expected. The point system is significantly inequivelant to each dollar spent which ultimately gives us very little pay out in terms of rewards. We currently have capital one venture one card, and do not pay an annual fee, but nobody talks about how high the interest rates are on these so-called rewards cards. We initially got it for traveling thinking that would be great to use as extra $. Not to mention I literally have to fight with capitol one fraud department every few months whenever I get a suspicious charge which ends up taking weeks to months to clear.
Just wondering if anyone else has had or felt the same way with this card.
We decided we now need something thats more geared towards grocieries and gas
My research has brought my to citi custom cash and amex blue cash perferred as potential options after we close out our captiol one.
Please only respond if you have EXPERIENCE with any of these cards
Has anyone here tried the Capital One Venture X card and would recommend switching to it? It looks pretty appealing with 10x miles on hotels and rental cars, 5x on flights, plus 10K bonus miles every year.
I currently have the Amex Gold but don’t feel like I’m getting much out of it. The annual fee is pretty high, and while I mostly use it for groceries and dining (4x points), I only travel about once a year.
I could keep using Amex for groceries and dining, but I’m thinking Venture X might be a better fit for travel.
My main concern is the $395 annual fee for Venture X. You do get $300 back if you book through Capital One Travel, but how good is their travel portal? Are the prices fair compared to other platforms?
With Amex travel at least, I’ve noticed their hotel and flight prices are often higher than Expedia or other booking sites
So I have 2 credit cards both cash back, but capital one gave me an upgrade offer (from my Quicksilver to the Venture One). I just don’t understand what miles mean on a credit card. The offer is for 1.25 miles for every dollar spent, what does miles mean? What or how can I use them? I do want to start traveling so I am looking into different travel cards. But I can upgrade with the same limit and without effecting my credit.
"Miles" are a joke and purposely don't have a clear monetary value. Stick with Quicksilver's 1.5% cash back.
Not sure what the other poster is talking about but miles aren't a joke and usually result in a better (read: higher) value than simple cash back. This is of course if you'll actually use your miles on travel, if you aren't going to travel then cash back probably is a better option.
Not to get into the weeds, but usually with these cards it is better to sign up fresh for the card because the CC companies will usually offer high sign up bonuses if you meet a certain spending requirement. If you just upgrade, you don't get that. I believe Capital One has a maximum of 2 personal cards per individual, so it may not be possible to open a new card without canceling one first. The Venture X has a great sign up bonus right now and earns 2x miles per dollar spent which blows the Quicksilver's 1.5x out of the water.
Edit: just a note of clarification, the Capital One 2 personal cards limit is specific to 2 Capital One cards, so if you have the Quicksilver and a card from another issuer, you'll be fine to apply for another Capital One card.
I have been getting more into credit cards this year and have gotten 3 already. • Bilt Mastercard • Chase freedom flex • Chase Sapphire preferred
Is the current Capital one Venture offer of $250 travel credit + 75,000 points worth doing?
It will put me at 4/24 with Chase and I do want to start getting some Chase business card to take advantage of their sign up bonuses. Is leaving only 1 Chase slot open for the next 2 years a big deal?
Any suggestions are welcome 🙏🏽
I’m pretty new to this, so I wanted to get some opinions. My credit score is 730, and my credit age is about 2.5 years.
I’m looking to get a new credit card to make the most of rewards, mainly for casual travel within the U.S. I’d probably use it a few times a year (maybe 2-4x) to buy flights, but not for hotels or rental cars. Other than that, I’d be putting daily expenses and smaller purchases on it. Would you say this card is a good fit for me?
