The Capital One Venture X card is currently offering a limited-time bonus of 100,000 bonus miles when cardholders spend $10,000 on purchases within the first six months of account opening, a promotion that ended on January 5, 2026. This high-value offer, which equates to approximately $1,000 in travel value, represents a significant increase from the previous 75,000-mile bonus. The card continues to provide strong benefits for frequent travelers, including unlimited 10X miles on hotels and rental cars, 5X miles on flights and vacation rentals, and 2X miles on all other purchases when booked through Capital One Travel. Cardholders also receive a $300 annual travel credit, 10,000 bonus miles annually on their anniversary, and access to over 1,300 lounges worldwide through Priority Pass after enrollment.

  • The Venture X card has a $395 annual fee but offers value through travel credits, lounge access, and rewards that can offset the cost for frequent users.

  • As of January 7, 2026, the 100,000-mile welcome bonus offer has concluded, though the card’s core benefits remain unchanged.

  • Starting February 1, 2026, additional cardholders will no longer receive complimentary lounge access and will need to pay a $125 annual fee for access to Capital One Lounges and Priority Pass lounges, unless they meet a $75,000 annual spending threshold.

  • The card provides complimentary access to Capital One Lounges and 1,300+ Priority Pass lounges, with benefits including complimentary breakfast, shower suites, and local food and beverages.

  • Cardholders can earn up to a $120 statement credit for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck® application fees, and enjoy Hertz President’s Circle status, trip cancellation/interruption insurance, and cell phone protection.

  • Miles earned do not expire and can be redeemed for travel, gift cards, cash, or transferred to over 15 travel loyalty programs, with some users valuing points at up to 3 cents each when transferred to partners like Air Canada or Wyndham Rewards.

Aside from $, If you connect frequently in DFW, DEN, or IAD, the lounges are a welcome retreat. Has probably saved me a couple hundred in meals and drinks over the last year. Answer from Orangebk1 on reddit.com

r/personalfinance on Reddit: How good is Capital One Venture X?
November 11, 2024 -

Has anyone used Capital One Venture X and would recommend someone else to switch to? It offers 10x miles for hotels & rental cars and 5x on flights, on top of which you get 10K miles each year.

I hold Amex Gold and I'm not benefitting much from it, especially considering a reasonably high AF, even though I mostly use it for groceries and dining which gets me 4x, and I travel at least once a year.

I can continue to use it for what I already but I can perhaps use a different card like Venture X for travelling.

My concern is:

AF is $395 but you get $300 cashback/year if you book anything through  Capital One Travel.

Now the question is, how good (and fairly priced is the collection) on  Capital One Travell?

For Amex at least, I find hotel (and sometimes flight) prices higher than Expedia and other websites.

Is it worth getting Capital One Venture X
Up to you. You give them $300, they make you spend it in their portal. You pay $95 a year for 10,000 miles. More on reddit.com

VentureX beginners-how to understand the card 101
For your specific upcoming travel, you could do this: If you are booking flights via the portal for 5x, use the $300 credit here, rather than on hotels (which get 10x) Use the card to book a hotel through the portal and earn 10x—pay with the $300 credit if not using it for flights, then prioritize the card, never pay with points The 10x can be applied to the cost AFTER (like a 10% discount) if you pay with the card and not with points When you hit the SUB, you can apply it backwards to help pay for the hotel Call the hotel after you book to confirm the reservation went through. I’ve never had a problem, but a call to customer service is way easier to make a month ahead of time in your living room than it is when you’re awkwardly in the lobby of a hotel panicking as your family watches Some folks will recommend never redeeming 1 point for 1 cent like I just suggested. However, you have a family and a schedule; finding good redemptions is a massive pain in that scenario. Booking for 5x and 10x already earns more points than a cashback card, so you’re still coming out ahead using the card even doing it this way. Don’t stress over advice given by bachelors traveling on random dates in business class, it’s a different use case. More on reddit.com

What are the downsides of the Capital One Venture X?

Aside from the annual fee, which some might consider high, the lounge access isn't what it used to be. You'll need to either pay for your guests or spend $75,000 on your Venture X card within a calendar year to unlock free guest benefits. Plus, there's a fee for authorized users who want lounge access, so you'll need to work to extract the value for lounge access. The other negative is you must book your travel through Capital One to earn the annual statement credit, which some people won't like, but others may find manageable.

Which card is better, Citi or Capital One?

Capital One wins for ease of use for most travelers, but Citi has better transfer partners and more earning potential (with a higher annual fee for its premium card). Go with Capital One for simplicity or Citi for maximum value, if the benefits make sense for you.

18 hours ago - When it comes to benefits, the Venture X's extra perks only add to the card's value — whereas with the Citi Strata Elite, you need to make sure you'll use them to get your money's worth. The biggest downside is the Venture X's guest policy for lounge access, but at least Capital One Lounge and Landings access is unlimited for the cardholder.
