Hey y’all,
I have both a Quicksilver and a Platinum card under the same account login.
When I received my Walmart card a few years ago, I couldn’t add it to the same login with my other cards. I had to create a separate account. I assumed this was a requirement for that card, especially since it wasn’t even eligible for Apple Pay.
After the recent conversion, my Walmart card was upgraded to a Savor. Now I’m wondering if it’s possible to add this card to my main login with the others.
I’d like to avoid calling customer service if possible, since the last time I tried, I was put on hold and eventually disconnected.
Thanks!
Just got my official letter in the mail.
I knew that Capital One and Walmart were ending their partnership, but this is the first time I’ve seen what that will actually look like.
Sorry if this is old news, but it was news to me.
After some bad personal choices my credit was in "poor" range for a few years. 2 cards were closed (cap one and bank of america). After some time paying a car loan I guess I managed to bring score back up and I was blessed and offered a second chance by cap one(Capital One Platinum) and Discover (Secured IT) card in May/June 2022 (thanks in part to you guys! =) ).
FYI my Discover card has since been upgraded to a non secured card and my credit has increased to 600-700 range.
So, I recently came across an ad for a Walmart Store Card via Capital One and used their pre approval form to see if I qualify. Apparently I do and am considering getting it. However I am wondering whether it's worth it or if I should instead just continue working on raising limits for current cards, especially since I already have another Capital One card? I am also wondering if this will somehow limit my ability to raise my limits on my current card? In addition, I was told capital one cards starting in '5178' cards are sub prime, which is what I have..
So I guess I am wondering if the Walmart card would be an "upgrade" to my current Capital One Platinum, and a non sub prime sort of card, and if I should see this as an opportunity? Or wondering also if it is in a "higher tier"? Or do store cards work differently even though branded by Capital One thus will be seen as an entirely separate card despite already having Capital One Platinum? My main goal is to get in 700-800 range and have a decent limit available to me, for emergencies etc; And have a card that will be a good stepping stone for the future. Again, not sure if it's accurate, but my Capital One Platinum is a '5178' card and I feel like I need to counteract it by getting a better card?
In addition, despite pre-approval, I am concerned about potential rejection, which I assume would lower my score from credit inquiry, undoing a lot of my hard work!
Thank you all
I recently got a Walmart capital one credit card and tried to link it to my capital one account and every time I login it tells me “We couldn't find an eligible Walmart Capital One account for that username” so then I call customer support and they don’t seem to know about things having to do with this credit card I tell them what is happening and they keep thinking I want to reset my password? So now I have this credit card that I can’t see any info about or pay back because I can’t get it on my account has anyone else had this issue?
I just received a letter stating that Capital One will no longer offer the Walmart rewards card; and that they'd replace my WM card with a Quicksilver. But I already have a Quicksilver.
Also I've already read that the WM card will be going back to Synchrony, so I'll still have that card anyway, just with another bank. So is Capital One giving me another credit card that I did not ask for, and did not apply for when they give me another Quicksilver?
edit: a word.

Welp, it was good while it lasted. I know some people on here were holding out hope the card could continue as Walmart found another bank to partner with (ala Amazon Chase & Symphony) but that doesn't look like it'll be the case.
