I had a Walmart Rewards Mastercard from Capital One. It has been discontinued and automatically product changed to a Quicksilver.
That Quicksilver, however, became upgradable through product change to either Savor One or Venture One. I chose Savor One for this one.

Anyone else get a letter in the mail saying they’re WM rewards card by Capital One is ending with Walmart and the account will be transferred to a Quicksilver card by September 4th?
This is kind of cool since I could only use the card at Walmart, it said I can use wherever Mastercard is accepted.

TBH. They're replacing a card for generally a card that's somehow inferior to the Rewards. Hence replacing a Co-branded card that harbors the 2% in-store/5% WM online (or Walmart Pay bonus) in favor for a minute 1.5% with an occasional 5% through their own Travel site. I was hoping that they give us an option to go either QS or Savor, but said nope, we only can offer/give you QS 😑

Well that sucks. The Quicksilver is so boring. I’ve had it for years and only buy a coffee once a year or so to keep it open

I got my second credit card, a Capital One Walmart rewards card ($300 limit) a couple of months ago, and have been maxing it out and paying it off multiple times during that time. I’ve been reading about Capital One frequently bucketing low limit, starter/rebuilder cards and being very stingy with limit increases.
My question is that if Capital One Walmart rewards card considered a starter/builder card? Is my strategy of maxing it out and paying it off pointless because they won’t increase my credit line anyway due to being bucketed?

BUT, you've only had your cards 2 months. Give it at least 6 months, bc that's too new a card to be considered for a CLI from them. Re bucketing, IDK about the Walmart branded one, but there are data points on here and on the MyFico forums that point to cards beginning in 5178 as the bucketed cards. Usually these are Platinum, or the Secured Platinum version. (I fell into this and simply closed the card in good standing after 7 mos). Someone may be able to chime in if this has also been noted in their newer QS Secured or the others.

Just got my official letter in the mail.
I knew that Capital One and Walmart were ending their partnership, but this is the first time I’ve seen what that will actually look like.

My wife got this letter yesterday in the mail. A Quicksilver will be useless to us. We have moved on from using 1.5% reward cards. We will use our Wells Fargo Active Cash for our occasional Walmart visits or like right now, our Discover card that has the 5% reward for Walmart until the end of September.

This is news to me. I have yet to receive any updates from Capital one. I already have the quicksilver. Not sure what mine will be. Update: October 7th. My Walmart card statement generated today, and my app now shows Quicksilver. I don't know what the full card number is.
