Door speakers don't make bass. But the Kenwood Exceleon speakers do have excellent mid-bass which can fool the uneducated as to what bass really is. More on reddit.com

Most aftermarket door speakers have less (perceived, at least) bass than stock speakers because they're designed for use with a subwoofer, so there's no need for them to have bloated midbass like stock units usually do. More on reddit.com

What you want is a sub. If you just want something casual a 500-600 watt mono block amp + a twelve inch sub in the trunk would have you straight.

To clarify, aftermarket speakers are mostly gonna give you mids and highs, usually they don’t play much bass at all even amped. So if you want better sound quality you replace door speakers if you want bass you need a sub

I'd personally go for Infinity Reference speakers if you're not amping. They have a lower resistance than most aftermarket speakers and a pretty high sensitivity, so they'll play pretty loud and the sound will be good for most people. Personally, I never buy speakers for bass as all my systems have a subwoofer. But I can say Infinity Reference and Polk DB speakers sound good even without amplification. The Infinitys will be louder and brighter (louder highs.) I find the Polk DBs to be smoother with nice detail for their price. If you want, most recommend the JBL GTO series that you can find on Amazon. They're old stock of JBL's higher end speakers, so they'll sound pretty good for $80. I have no experience with them, but a lot of people here rec them for budget builds. If money is no object (which I'm assuming isn't the case here based on what you have provided) then disregard all previous advice and get a set of Morel Tempo Ultras. More on reddit.com
