Methodology or method? A critical review of qualitative case study reports - PMC
Experienced qualitative researchers have identified case study research as a stand-alone qualitative approach (Denzin & Lincoln, 2011b). Case study research has a level of flexibility that is not readily offered by other qualitative approaches such as grounded theory or phenomenology.

What is the difference between qualitative study and case studies?
Seem pretty similar except that case studies are typically for an individual/ small group Pretty much. You can consider a case study as a type of qualitative study if that helps. Other types of qualitative studies could be naturalistic observation of groups, etc. More on reddit.com

Question regarding Qualitative Research Method (Case Study & Interview)
Hey I have a master degree in sociology and social research and am currently doing a PhD in data science so I hope I can help! :) methodology refers exclusively to the techniques you will be using in your analysis i.e. ethnomethodolgy, text mining etc. Case study is a type of study and not a technique :) I think you could proceed as follow 1.address the general topic like the market you are interested in 2. Define a clear research question 3. Define what techniques you will use 4. Collect data accordingly. To find a suitable technique and method you should ask yourself what the scope of your paper is, what you want to achieve, how can you treat the data structures you will create. Maybe if you give more details I can give my humble suggestion to help you find a good method. More on reddit.com

Why is qualitative research looked down upon in academia?
There is a deep bias/assumption that qualitative research is fundamentally subjective, which goes against psychology's drive for objectivity. And many people falsely assume quantitative is always objective. More on reddit.com

Thinking 'Qualitative' Through a Case Study
The case study comes from the tradition of medical, legal, and psychological research. It · involves a detailed analysis of an individual case that tries to identify the dynamics and pathology · of a given disease, crime, or disorder (Rothe, 1994). Stake (1994, 2010) argued that a case study is · not a methodological choice, but a choice of object to be studied. A qualitative case study is

June 27, 2011 - Recognising the importance of full access and co-operative working for generating rich data, the research team decided not to pursue work at that site and instead to focus on other recruited sites. In order to develop a thorough understanding of the case, the case study approach usually involves the collection of multiple sources of evidence, using a range of quantitative (e.g. questionnaires, audits and analysis of routinely collected healthcare data) and more commonly qualitative techniques (e.g.
