Help me choose a Casio digital piano, please
Is Casio a good/reliable piano producer?
Casio or Yamaha digital piano? : piano
FL Studio can't find my Digital piano. (Casio CDP-100)
Hello everybody, wishing you all fantastic a day/evening
I am finding myself looking for a piano and I think I narrowed it down to a trio of Casio digitals:
CASIO CELVIANO AP-470. ~$1800
CASIO PRIVIA PX-S7000. ~$3000
CASIO PRIVIA PX-S5000. ~$1300 (+$100 P-34 pedal)
For the sake of arguement I'd also like your opinion on these that I have access to:
ROLAND FP-30. ~$1100
The entire Privia line, including X000 and X100 series
The Celviano AP-270
Now something about me and why these choices:
I love music, as we all do (I think), and I always wanted to learn to play an instrument (and I guess this is your first red flag, I am a novice at best), I played some keyboard during high school but looking back my teacher was terrible, I didn't learn a single thing about harmonics, melodies, chords... he basically taught us by rote memory which keys to play, the thing is... I liked to play anyway.
So now, grown up and with some disposable income I am looking into reviving this old little fantasy of learning to play an instrument (and the piano calls my name, even above and beyond the violin, maybe that'll be in a few years I hope). Here I am looking at reviews and specs on the pianos that I have listed earlier and I have come to two realizations: I like 'em all and I haven't got a clue of what I am looking at specs-wise, for which I apologize, I am looking for your expertise precisely because of this.
Now, why these pianos? Easy: That's all my local store has in stock. No, I'm serious. I know there is a lot of talk about Yamahas and Kawais in other forum/threads but I can't find any here, please understand that I am living in a country with... less than ideal technological an economical conditions, to put it mildly (which explains the high prices btw). There's also a personal opinion I have about buying the right tool now, instead of one that will fall short tomorrow; I can buy a Casio CT-S100, but I'll probably have to upgrade anyway so I might as well start with something worthwhile
I am open to ideas and suggestions, even if you want to tell me 'hey Mr. Hangry man, those pianos are too much for you, consider these', I'll welcome that feedback (but please also give me your opinion on these ones), maybe even suggest another brand/model and maybe I'll get lucky and find it second-hand in Marketplace, who knows?
One last thing, I can splurge for the PX-S7000 for sure, but I'd like to hear your thoughts on it. Its bells and whistles (and sexy mustardy look) attract me so much, but what do you guys think? Is it worth it?
Thanks in advance!
I’m buying a new digital piano and there is a good aesthetically pleasing Casio option that fits my price range, but I’ve never heard of Casio producing pianos. Just want to ask how much the sound quality will take a hit and if it’s worth getting at £900 or should I get the slightly more expensive Yamaha clavinova at around £1200.
