Do I need a foundation?
Need help with a foundation. Moving to a Casper but not sure what would be the best box spring/foundation.
This is another option:

Serves as your frame and box spring all in one, malouf also makes a fitted bed skirt for it too.
Before you pull the trigger on a Casper I would recommend checking out a couple local stores to see what they have for a 10" memory foam.

Do you need a foundation for a mattress?
Much like the foundation of your home, a mattress foundation provides critical support for the entire bed. To keep sagging at bay, you need a strong and leveled base for your new mattress. This is especially true for memory foam mattresses and innerspring mattresses, as they require adequate support to maintain their structure.
At Casper, our mattress foundations are designed to protect all mattresses from degradation, no matter the bed frame or material. For sleepers with no bed foundation or just an old box spring, it’s time for an upgrade to truly complement your mattress purchase.
What is the best foundation for a mattress?
In short, one that protects your mattress and improves your sleep. Mattress bases range from metal slats to solid platforms. At Casper, we believe the best mattress foundation is our wooden slat model. The closely-spaced beams evenly level your mattress, providing structure without sacrificing comfort. This bed base is great for all types of mattresses, including memory foam, innerspring, and hybrid mattresses, and provides greater support compared to a traditional box spring or foundation.
What is a bed foundation used for?
Unlike old box springs and sagging foundations, a quality mattress base provides a solid surface that ensures lasting support. Your mattress will remain in peak condition for years to come, alongside many sleep-supporting benefits:
- Improved sleep and comfort
- No mattress sagging
- Secured mattress placement
- Improved airflow
Alongside Casper mattresses, our bed foundations are designed for long-lasting support and act as the perfect box spring alternative for your mattress. With our compact slatted foundation design, you won’t be bothered by gaps or sharp pressure points.
I bought a Casper Original and my existing IKEA Hemnes bed.
Casper said to replace my box springs with slats (or their expensive foundation). I tried the inexpensive Luroy slats, And I feel like it’s higher/supportive in the middle where the mid beam is and it feels like it sags on either side.
I’m guessing it’s the slats, but I’m struggling on what’s the best cost effective solution
Flat slats ? Piece of plywood on top of the slats ? $400 Casper foundation Bunkie board on top of slats ?
Any suggestions?
