I rcvd a very nice Lodge cast iron dutch oven for my birthday. I made the mistake of braising some chicken thighs with a bunch of fresh tomatoes, an onion, white wine, ckn broth and spices. Very acidic which I then learned was not ideal for plain cast iron (noticeable residue and slightly metallic taste). I intend to get another enameled vessel in the future, but am curious what recommendations would be for utilizing what I currently have. I'm guessing soups and stews for colder weather would be ideal. I'd love to know your thoughts...

Hi all, I recently got a Dutch oven with the intention of using it to bake bread, but I wanted to get familiar with using it first, especially in the oven, and wanted to see anyone has any recipes I could make with it. If it matters, I am Muslim and only eat halal food, so that means no pork or alcohol in the cooking (among other things). It's also more difficult for me to get meat (excluding fish) because of where I live and my budget, but if you have any recommendations I'd still like to hear them because Ive never had anything like this before.(side note: I'd really love to make beef Bourguignon, but the inclusion of wine and apparently bacon (?) has me unsure with how to make it to fit my diet, so if anyone has any ideas for substitutes/similar recipes I'd be very grateful) Thank you for reading, and for any advice/recipes I get x
