r/CentOS on Reddit: CentOS 8 Stream - Installation Source?
September 24, 2020 -
I'm installating CentOS 8 Stream as an alternative to CentOS 8. On the installation there is a page where you are prompt for installation source. Your only options are Red Hat CDN or On the Network. Red Hat CDN won't let me begin, as software selection says 'Red hat CDN requires registration', and is greyed out, and doesn't prompt for anything.
That leaves me with 'On the Network' (with two selections: http, https, ftp, nfs, and URL type: repository URL, mirrorlist, metalink). I've not been successful finding a suitable option. What did you use to proceed?
EDIT: Answer is to download and use DVD version...

Yeah my slight beef with the CentOS DVD ISOs is they no longer fit on an 8GB thumb drive...had to upgrade my thumb drive to a 32GB. I tried to use the "boot" ISO as well. You can also use the "minimal" ISO if you don't need a GUI, or are okay installing it manually after the minimal OS is installed.
