I've always liked them. There's a bit of bounce to them, but not too much, just enough to be "soft". The materials seem to wear well (that coarse cloth) and not attract too much dirt. The only sort-of issue I've had is that every once in a blue moon, I have to snug up the screws on the frame. Only the ones in the bottom back of the chair. If I were smart, I'd use a dab of loc-tite on them and call it a day. More on reddit.com

I am moving to a larger place and I really want to get a dedicated reading chair, as I dislike reading on the couch or in bed.
After doing a ton of research, it seems that IKEA is still the best game in town when it comes to the cross section of longevity and affordability, so I will be buying this (and a few other items) from IKEA when the time comes.

Strandmon is great and the velvet ones are pretty cat resistant to a point. It’s just a great design. If I were going for looks and needed a chair I’d go with the oskarshamn but I think it has a bit of a bigger presence than the Strandmon.

Just set up my reading room! Yellow strandmon chair and ottoman, with a tartan blanket draped over the back, walnut billy bookcase and a ton of fake plants (not enough natural light in my reading room for any real plants to survive ☹️) a fish tank and some fairy lights and it’s divine! I'm considering a Poäng chair and corresponding ottoman in Isunda gray. I was curious if anyone on this sub had anything to say about the quality and their experience with it. I had a version with leather on the chair and ottoman. Held up very well, very comfortable. Only got rid of it because of a change in decor.
