Fashion Coach here. Essentially Fashion has become self contained. Depending on the fashion sales volume, your store was either ranked a as a Tier 1, 2, or 3. Seeing as you received a Fashion Coach, you were most likely a Tier 1 or 2. You also should be receiving a 4th TL. The TL Breakdown is: Women's and Intimates, Men's and Shoes, Boys/Girls and Infants, 2nd shift backroom and Jewelry/Accessories. First shift TA's, at a minimum should be pulling picks from the racks and working them. The racks should have a new RFID Vizpick label. After lunch they need to re-wand any racks that had merchandise brought back and hung on them (after shelf cap and OH have been adjusted). 1st shift also sets mods, does price changes, and clears DSL errors. On Tues/Thurs they do the RFID scan. Second shift stocking associates take care of the unload sort and stocking. They Vizpick and work picks from the fashion WACO's. Sort and process freight from the truck. Run basics and current modular merchandise. New mod should be separated into the B bins above the racks. At the end of the night, they have to re-wand any WACO's or Racks that had merchandise added to them. Fashion should be doing their own OPD picks across all shifts (5a-6p) and maintaining the zone and fitting room across all shifts. This is just a basic break down. You can find more information by searching "Fashion Ops Model" on OneWalmart or in the Fashion Better Way guide. I've spoken to all of my associates about the process change so it wasn't a surprise to them; I'm sorry it was for you. The stores that have been on this OPS model since March have seen a significant reduction in excess inventory while having fuller salesfloor presentations and higher FTPP in the Fashion commodity. It's a win-win. Answer from cheerio16 on reddit.com

r/walmart on Reddit: Changes coming to Walmart
October 23, 2024 -

I remember reading about this a while back. Here is a recent article. It seems a bit strange overall. On one hand we see corporate doing everything possible to cannibalize their physical stores in favor of moving customers online yet here are some dramatic changes emphasizing the traditional market but with a much higher end setting. Will these new or remodeled stores also come with increased staffing to assist customers? Will these associates be trained and provided with working equipment? Who is going to constantly clean these attractive displays from the garbage that customers dump everywhere? What about the roving bands of teenagers that will immediately find new things to play with? All in all this PR article looks great but in the real world, I don't know.

r/walmart on Reddit: All the Fashion Changes?
October 13, 2025 -

So apparently there has been some major apparel changes going on in Walmart but in typical fashion us (few) associates who work over there have received basically no communication on anything. Even the leads seem clueless on what's going on. I'm hoping there's some apparel associates/leads here that have been better informed and can tell me what's going on.

* The third party people who were doing the mannequins and signage are all gone (laid off?) and we now have a "Fashion Coach" but what exactly is the coach supposed to be doing? Because so far ours has just been yelling at people and sitting in an office, much like most coaches in my store I guess.

* Our mannequins and signage haven't been touched in months (especially signage). Who is responsible for that now?

* Also our freight.. For the last four or five months overnights was working it and first shift was keeping up with the rolling racks. It seemed like things were really starting to improve freight-wise. Second shift (my shift) was actually free to zone a little bit instead of being bogged down with picks and freight (granted I was still getting pulled to OPD or the register most nights..but at least the freight was being done). Now? I come in on second shift and see a pallet of totes with basic apparel stacked over my head and I'm being told I have to work it. I came in to 7 pallets of freight a few days ago...

* Rolling racks aren't getting touched and the hanging freight is stacked to the ceiling on pallets waiting to be processed. When I ask about it I'm being told that overnights no longer touches apparel at all. wtf happened?! Why would they take something that was actually starting to work and break it? (semi rhetorical question lol. I know walmart is famous for doing that). And on that kind of note, what is first shift doing now? What are they supposed to be doing?

* Then there's everything on in the back. I have no idea what's really going on back there but one lead spends literally every shift back there and I can't really see any difference other than it looks like Viz labels (which I've never vized anything in my life and have no idea how any of that works) are being used on the waco boxes.

Basically apparel is falling completely apart and these changes seem stupid. But if someone out there who has more information can really explain how everything is supposed to be working maybe it'll make more sense.

How did your fashion section not have a coach before? I've worked at my store for 12 years and it always has a apparel/fashion coach

r/walmart on Reddit: Has anyone heard of produce or fresh changes coming later this year?
July 30, 2023 - Mostly just Walmart stuff. ... Stores are splitting meat and produce, so there is a meat TL and a produce TL. If that’s already happened then not that I know of ... Yeah we have a meat TL and produce TL now. They asked me if I wanted the meat TL position but I said no. Wasn't a big enough raise for all the extra bullshit I'd have to put up with.

September 16, 2025 - I don’t see why this be the case People who come to work vs those who don’t regardless of the new info shouldn’t be rewarded. If your points fall off naturally you now know you should keep them below 1 point by the following January and this is a learning lesson vs those who took it seriously from the start actually getting something for coming to work which is the point . More replies ... I busted my butt for that walmart, got constant compliments from customers about my wonderfull service.

r/walmart on Reddit: New Walmart Restructure?
December 22, 2019 -

Has anyone heard about a new Walmart restructure possibly involving team leads? I’ve heard that there is something coming down the pipeline regarding the team leads having to work weekends and getting 2 days off together during the week. Not sure of anything else restructuring as far as areas of responsibility or pay. I’ve heard nearly the same thing from 2 different sources.

r/walmart - Setting mods in 2022. Gonna be a mess y'all!!
January 9, 2019 -

Haven't restarted setting yet. I noticed some things have changed since the fall. First thing, TC70's no longer work and when you use your phone it gives you the aisle location, location and just last night it started giving the section. It does not give the mod category. I am thinking this is going to be problematic when you have categories losing and gaining sections.

The main thing is getting rid of the mod sheets being printed through the smart system. Now, you have to go thru the image modular which doesn't always print the upc's but just the pictures.

In oct. 2021 we had our entire store drop again(rare) and nothing got set. Everything is in total disarray. I looked last night and we had 479 late mods. It is just bad that we have to adjust to a new system while needing to try to get the store back together. By the way, inventory is in 4 weeks.

Any suggestions to adjusting to the new system? Anyone know how to get the old mod sheets from somewhere in the system? Any suggestions would be helpful from anyone that has set mods since the TC70 died or mods set recently. Thanks
