Chase is way better. Their CSRs know their products and policies so interactions are generally productive. BoA CSRs not so much and at least half the time I have to inform and clarify to them about their products (which leads me to hang up and call again). Answer from AlarmingInfoHUH on reddit.com

r/Chase on Reddit: New to chase. Need to contact customer service, but haven't gotten my card yet. How do I find the card number online? Cannot talk to anyone with it, or the user ID...
December 29, 2023 -

I just got a chase card! I'm excited to use it, but I'm visiting family for a few weeks and my new card won't arrive to my house before I leave. I have been trying to contact customer support so I can change the shipping address, but I can't get anywhere without my card number, or my 'User ID' - neither of which appears to be found anywhere on the website or the app.

Anyone have any idea where to find these items? I only see the last four digits, and since it's a new account I don't have any statements that I can access to get the full number. I also can't even add it to apple pay because I need to call customer support for the 2FA pin (and you guessed it, I need my account # to get that). I even tried messaging the chat bot to get a representative, but they just said to call the customer support line.

All I need is to get through to an agent, but it feels like I'm stuck in an infinite loop. I just want to get my card and be able to use it!! So frustrating...

Is a tragedy over the phone. Why does it always ask for the last four of my account number 3 times and reject it each time before finally asking and accepting the full account number? I’ve unfortunately had to contact Chase twice between a span of two months and they’ve had this “issue” with their automated phone service both times. Support claims it’s a bug in the system, but a bug impacting customer ability to communicate with support regarding their finances for this long seems significant for a bank of this size. Am I the only customer experiencing this?

May 29, 2024 - Chase America online banking also has a secure message portal you can use to send a message to Chase (basically their own internal webmail system). ... Try the Secure Message Center within the app in the settings area although the responses aren’t immediate but same timing as email.

Is there a 24 hour contact number? Or do I have to wait until Monday to get my issues fixed. Weird I can apply for a loan anytime. But can't talk to customer service anytime

Hi all, first post and thought I’d share some advice I just learned today. (Apologizes if this is common knowledge or frequently shared) Seemingly like others, I’ve failed to find a way to talk to a real person on the main Customer service line before. That ends today! If you call the main line and type 0#0#, it brings you right to a person. Hope this helps.

I’ve heard bad things about chase customer service especially as compared to Amex whom I’ve had bend over backwards for any request. Yet I just called the number on the back of my CSP and while nowhere near as quick to get a customer service rep I was on the phone with someone in 5 minutes which imo speaks more about Amex than chase. So in my opinion the service is completely adequate even though it doesn’t stand up to the unattainable bar set by Amex.

I’m test driving the CSP in my portfolio since they are paying me to hold it and I would like to hear some stories about more complex issues and requests to see where this chase sentiment comes from as I’m trying to pro/con upgrading to CSR or downgrading to grab the plat or venture X before big travel next FY

There is absolutely no way to call Chase and speak to a representative to ask a yes or no question. I have tried my local branch, every menu option leads to more menus and robot answers. I am a credit card customer with a question about trying to become a banking customer. Humans need to be able to get through the menus to speak with another human if that is what they need. This is terrible, Chase

June 30, 2022 - I contacted Chase, they found it to be a fraudulent account, shut it down, etc. It bothered me that there was no email verification when they set up an account with my information. Really? You can just open an account with a random person's email address and not verify that the address belongs to the correct person?

I've been trying to reach someone from customer service from the shops at chase almost everyday and have not been able to get in touch with anyone. Has anyone had any luck reaching their customer service line? I tried call other Chase customer support lines and they keep just giving me the same phone number on their website. I'm conversationally fluent in Spanish too so tried the Spanish language line and didn't have luck with that either.

Beginning this past week, when I try to log in to Chase online to check my credit card statement, after getting a text message verification code, I am presented with an additional screen that requires me to call Chase Customer Service and get an additional 8-digit code. Screenshot: https://kz2wu0vandnpv8d4.s3.amazonaws.com/screenshot.png

Is this happening to anyone else?

UPDATE: additional, recent reports of this:

UPDATE (March 2025): Chase Customer Service, which used to be available 24/7 as shown in the screenshot from 2024, has since reduced their hours:

  • Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. ET.

  • Saturday – Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET.

How does the biggest bank have some of the worst customer service? I've had to deal with 3 reps in the past 2 days and they have all been terrible. First off, they all have thick Indian accents and sound annoyed all the time.

The first person I spoke with couldn't wait to get me off the phone and didn't even verify address when I asked to get the CSP rush shipped. Now, over 24 hours later, I still have no received an email confirming shipment but apparently they say it was sent.

Very disappointing for a company like Chase to have such low standards for customer service. Discover and Amex are always a pleasant experience. Hell, even Citi is usually good and has a chat feature.

I think I'm done opening chase cards for a little while just based off these last few interactions.
