Does the [coca name='chase-sapphire-preferred.Name' type='cards'] get you into airport lounges?
As the title indicates, I made a purchase about two weeks ago and I went to return it but since it was an electronic the return period has expired. I know that the sapphire reserved card has a purchase protection for anything up to 90 days if they don't accept the return. But the amount they reimburse up to is only 500 dollars and what I purchased was a little over 1000. I also know that they have the option to request you to mail the item to them for the return. In this case do you think they would try and request me mail the item back to them even though the purchase price was double what they would be offering to reimburse? Or would they make me just eat the 700 dollar difference and they would just reimburse me the 500?
In order to be eligible for the Chase Sapphire travel insurance does travel need to be booked %100 using the card? Or does just being a card owner mean you automatically have travel insurance, even if you used a different card for travel purchases?
(In my case I booked flights from the US to Europe using the Chase Sapphire card, but then accommodation and some internal flights within Europe using another card. Wondering if I'm covered for flight disruption ,delay, and medical insurance).
I purchased an Insta360 action camera in January at CES at a discount and took it on a trip a few weeks later. I forgot to put on the lens protectors and on my way home the camera fell out of my bag and cracked both lenses. Insta360 had insurance you could buy but it was only valid if you purchase it 15 days from the time of purchase or activation. I had activated it the first weekend I bought it to update the firmware and by the end of my trip, I was well out of that time period. I received a quote for repairing both lenses at $100 each!
You can imagine my disappointment, dropping $450 on a camera and then a few weeks later needing $200 more to repair it. Then I remember, I had put the purchase on my Chase Sapphire Reserve. I was within the 90 days claim period. I logged in and created my claim:
I submitted an email receipt, credit card statement with proof of purchase and showing my card number on it, and lastly the repair estimate. There were other documentation that said "required" like police report or copy of primary insurance declarations but those were not applicable and I called in to confirm.
Finally, I called in to make sure paperwork was good and they said yes it's under review. The next day I received the email, for the FULL amount of the camera reimbursement. I was able to set up the bank transfer and was paid next day! What a great protection and service. This keeps me as a customer! Great consumer protections.
