Does anyone know where to buy a decent used car in Austin?

I was looking for an old Toyota or Honda, something like a Civic, Camry, or Corolla. I looked around at some used car dealerships and the prices were outlandish.

A shop in S Austin had a 2007 Corolla for sale with 120k miles…selling for $19k. Another shop I looked at was selling a 2008 Camry with 100k miles for $20k. Am I just f’ed in the a**? Or should I give up and just look for a private seller? I was not looking for anything over $6k and wanted to pay cash.

Gotta go to one of the other major cities in TX. The Austin car market is garbage and has been for a very long time. Dfw, Houston, San Antonio should show better results.

Unfortunately used car prices have increased significantly. The best bet is to look outside Austin for something a little cheaper. Otherwise yes private seller is the best bet since you won’t have to pay the middle man.
