Don't think old flip phones would benefit said person. Majority of Kenyans use smartphones, albeit from Chinese brands, therefore, it's highly likely the person wants smartphone(s). Probably best you inquire from them directly what it is they exactly want. From my experience, importing phones from the US is usually to find premium brands/models, like Samsung and Iphone, at a bargain rather than buying them new locally which can be quite expensive, or used locally which can be a product gotten through crime (and has landed lots of people in trouble hence why people prefer US used phones).
