Cheap Fire Ring | Trading Post History | Neopets Items
The farthest back our history goes is October 2014, and it may not be a complete lot history. As with the Trading Post on Neopets, always be wary of high asking prices on items that were previously cheaper.

Most important thing to ask, IMO, is what your budget is. The second most important thing I want to ask is what species your pet is. Some pet species have stellar species-only options they should consider. For, I am going to make suggestions for a limited budget (3 million NP or less) and stuff that will work for all species. Healing: I think the first, direct and easy upgrade you can make for your pet is to replace your Scroll of Three Wishes with a Lesser Healing Scroll (about 30k NP). This is an inexpensive direct upgrade to your Scroll of Three Wishes that will always heal 25 HP. If you have/can afford a Feel Better Soup use that instead. Even if you have to buy it, it's a great investment that will scale with your pet as it grows stronger. An alternative is to stock up on a bunch of Lucky Robots Foot, they are 7k each and one time use only, but they are full heals. If you choose this option, I would get them now before a war is officially announced because they will go up in price. If you're looking for something multiuse that will heal for a lot, there's the Greater Healing Scroll which heals 50 HP once per battle, but I think it's a bit pricey at around 230k NP that you will outgrow fairly quickly if you plan on raising your pet's HP much higher soon. Offense: What you have now are some great starter weapons, unfortunately it looks like upgrades are going to cost a bit. Turned Tooth I think is a good upgrade for you, however, I think these are being heavily inflated at the moment. Shop Wizard is reporting 500k prices for these things and they should not be worth that much. You could try your luck trying to restock them at Tyrannian Weaponry (they are only r83) and while they are good weapons, they are not half a million good. Don't pay for these if you can't get them for around a fair price. Instead, I would say the Ring of the Sway (Basically free), Poisonous Mushroom Tea (50k), Roxtons Trusty Bow Knife (650k), The Mystical Tablet (1.1 million) and Void Blade (1.1 million) are better investments. I would replace your Flask of Liquid Fire and/or Ridiculously Heavy Battle Hammer with any of these, and if you're still looking to make room for more, the Multi Barbed Ice Spear is probably the next thing I'd recommend upgrading, then the Scroll of Ultranova. Since you've got a 100% freezing item in Sleep Ray (and probably the Lens Flare ability) you would benefit from having a strong once per battle item to take advantage of it. Normally, I'd recommend something like Jhudoras Potion, but similar to the Turned Tooth, it's being inflated right now and is absolutely not worth the 2 million people are asking for. Unfortunately, the best thing I can think of is a Varia is the Bomb which people are asking about 3 million for at the moment, which is a lot. You might have to forgo using a bomb if that's too much, but your strongest multiuse weapons should still put out good damage against a frozen opponent. If Jhudoras Potions come down to below 1 million, I'd consider getting one. Defense: Defending is always a bit tricky, because a lot of it depends on what the opponents are using and we simply can't predict that. Your Downsize! is a great all purpose option and the only real direct upgrade would be 100% blockers like Thyoras Tear and I'm not about to recommend that. Similar to healing, you could stock up on Thick Smoke Bomb (9k each) which are single use full blockers, but again, that's a cost that could add up fast and I'd stick with just your Downsize! for now. There are some good, situational cheap blockers you could consider just owning in case we get opponents they're good at like the Parasol of Unfortunate Demise (like, literally 350 NP, blocks all Light plus some Water and Earth), Hanso Charisma Charm (500 NP, blocks all Dark and does 10 icons of damage as well), Altadorian Swordbreaker (80k, blocks all physical and does 5 icons of damage) are all great, cheap investments to have you your back pocket. Also, if you choose to get the aforementioned Roxtons Trusty Bow Knife or The Mystical Tablet, those also come with some built in defenses as well. The Bow Knife blocks 75% of all Earth icons and the Tablet blocks all Physical and Dark, as well as providing some minor healing. The Feel Better Soup blocks all Air icons, but because it's your healing item you can only use once per battle, I would not try to use it to block Air attacks. Outside of these item upgrades, I think training your pet's stats will provide a huge return on investment as well.

Roxtons trusty Bowie knife, turned tooth, void blade, feel better soup, mystical tablet. These seem to be the popular BD items rn

Battledoming With a Budget: A Guide to Cheap Weapons
Training your pet and watching him succeed in the Battledome is one of the most satisfying experiences in Neopets. Unfortunately for most Neopians, the average user cannot afford the fancy Battledome items such as H400 Helmet, Thyora’s Tear, or any of those fancy Hidden Tower weapons.
