Aloha! I'm looking for solid wood "grown up" furniture for my bedroom as well as a new kitchen table set. On the mainland there are lots of small businesses that refurbish great old furniture so I'd love to find something like that. Or if you have recommendations for somewhere to buy new, please share! Thanks :)

Ive been furniture shopping a lot lately too, and have been to most of the furniture stores on island multiple times. Inspiration should be a last resort unless you see an item you REALLY like that no one else has. If you go for their higher-end stuff, its decent. But their low-range stuff is trash, and their mid-range items are the same quality as Red Knot (meh quality. Not terrible, but I wouldnt expect to keep anything more than 5ish years) but at 1.5-2x the price. Red Knot/Ashley Furniture not bad, a little expensive for the Red Knot stuff, but not super terrible. A lot of their items are on back order, a couch I wanted wasnt due for delivery till august. All the stores have the same items/stock, so no need to visit more than one. Costco very limited selection on island, they just ran a promo of "in stock, ship now" items, not sure if its still going. Their price to quality ratio is pretty decent, but again, low variety. Sams Club similar to costco. But they have different items. For both Sams and Costco, each warehouse sometimes has slightly different items, so it may be worth checking out more than one location if you have time. Bali Aga solid wood furniture from Malaysia/Indonesia, a little expensive, but not bad for it being solid wood vs particle board/MDF. Hawaii Consignment a lot of odd items, honestly worth a look if nothing else for the intrigue.
