Costco is better than the alternatives that you listed. Kohls is also ok when there are big sales and bonuses. In general, the goal of being frugal is to get the best value out of your money. This means the cheapest option is often not the best. Despite price increases, Goodwill may still be more frugal than poor quality new clothing. Some name brand clothing is actually higher quality and may be the frugal choice in the long run. More on reddit.com

You could try value world in ypsi or Salvation Army in AA if you’re a thrifter. Otherwise for cheap I would try kohls with sales (July 4 ?) . I used to only shop clothes at Goodwill. Now that their prices have become ridiculous, I don't... exactly... know where else to go. Walmart? Costco? JC Penney? Amazon? I have no idea, but all my clothes have become faded and threadbare and I pretty much need to overhaul my entire wardrobe at this point.
Problem is my frugal brain likes to obsessively overthink everything I look at.
"This was probably made in a sweatshop."
"Anything from here will probably fall apart in a month, tbh..."
"Twenty bucks for this single shirt?? I could probably get this in a ten pack elsewhere..."
"This brand is too recognizable. I don't want to waste money on clout."
And then I'll inexplicably give up, go home, and wear out my clothes even more. 😞
What are some of your best experiences with clothes shopping? I'm willing to pay more this time if it'll mean saving money in the long-run.

Costco for me. I don't know if it is the cheapest or the best quality. It is just time efficient. I am in Costco to get food anyway. And their selection is big enough to choose something but small enough so I don't feel overwhelmed by choice. Also not clothes, but sneakers. All the sneakers I got from Costco fit well and felt fine. I tried to get a pair in more expensive store and it was really hard to find the one that would fit well.
