I'd like something to control parameters in Waveform Pro, Kontakt 8, and Guitar Rig 7 Pro. I've got a keyboard and am fine with playing beats on it. It would be cool to have a controller with pads, too, but it's not the reason for the purchase.
So far, the best thing I've found is the Arturia Beatstep (not the Pro). It's got 16 knobs (and 16 pads) for just under $90 at Amazon. Again, I don't really need the sequencer, but looking at what's out there, this might be the one that makes the most sense for me, but I wanted to check with those who know these things better than me. Thanks.
Edit: I figured I'd come back to report that I bought a REFURBISHED Launch Control XL for $106 from the Novation website, but as far as I can tell, it looks new. Nothing on the box or the box UPC to suggest it's refurbished. I'm actually waiting until Christmas for my family to "give" it to me, but I opened it up to check and it looks brand new. Needless to say, I'm happy with how this worked out. Thanks for ALL the suggestions!
I play guitar. I like to record music. I understand music theory, but don’t play keyboard/piano.
Quite simply, I want a greater variety of sounds. What midi device would you recommend <$100?
