I grew up dirt poor and got all my clothes and gifts and home decor from the Salvation Army, Goodwill, etc growing up. I was in a small area and we didnt have resellers or any of that so you could actually get useful stuff. Now I'm an adult and I'm still dirt poor, but this time I live in Toronto. You see the problem.
I basically can't afford to buy clothes new at all. I've been wearing things to holes for years.
Any time I try to look up thrift it's vintage clothes resellers. Always massive amounts of money. The stores that ARE actual thrift stores get bought out immediately by people who can afford to buy new but don't. And almost none of these stores have furniture, it's just clothes... it's a hostile landscape out here! Plus I can't get out of Toronto itself easily because I don't have a car.
Are there any recommendations for actually cheap thrift stores, especially ones that have furniture, home decor etc, in Toronto proper? Things that aren't either run by or descended upon by vultures? I'd be incredibly grateful. FB Marketplace and the like are hit or miss, and I'm looking for physical locations.
