9 Best Thrift Stores in San Francisco to Shop At Right Now
July 24, 2023 - From Haight to the Mission District, here are our favourite thrift stores in San Francisco for cheap clothes and more.
You could check out the thrift and vintage stores in Haight-Ashbury, since there are plenty of them within a walkable radius. The Haight Goodwill can get crowded but will be one of the cheaper options in that area. In SF, you can’t expect to find treasures for rock-bottom prices, but it’s interesting to see what people spring-clean out (lots of tech company branded swag, for the most part). There are a couple of vintage shops on Valencia where you can find cool things, but don't expect low prices. For thrift shops, there's Community thrift on Valencia and Out of the Closet on Folsom, but it's hit or miss with the inventory.

Community Thrift in the Mission. Goodwill on Haight. Out of the Closet has a location in SoMa and one on Polk. If you're looking for secondhand clothes, both the Mission and the Haight have tons of vintage stores, and the Mission has a recurring vintage pop-up market on weekends at 18th and Valencia. If you're looking for weird random stuff/arts and crafts supplies, check out SCRAP in the Bayview.

It's not "cheap" like thrifting used to be, but I've gotten cute things at the Goodwill in West Portal. If you take the train, it's almost right outside the West Portal station stop. I got a very pretty, NWT, Madewell dress for like $20.

Thrift Town is great. If you are here over a weekend check out the garage sales on craigslist - http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/gms/ - they are a source of great cheap clothes plus a wealth of other goodies.
