Hi, I am on a budget of $150 for groceries this month, and need some help figuring out how to make my money go as far as possible. I recently moved to Charlotte, NC and I am still pretty new to shopping for myself. The past couple of months I have tried a few different locations. First I tried shopping at target since I had never been to one before, and I quickly learned its way more expensive to buy groceries there than I thought it would be. Then I tried looking at Harris Teeter, and I was able to find some better deals but I still feel like I wasn't making my money go as far as possible. Last month I went to this Walmart Neighborhood market thing, and its the closest, but it has very little options for products and it didn't seem to be better in terms of price. I understand that groceries are just expensive all around, but I would like some help figuring out how to save as much as possible.
Any help is appreciated.
Hey Everyone!
I was wondering which grocery stores you shop at to keep the lowest overall grocery bill. There are a ton of options out there and some things are cheaper at some stores than others, which is why I ask about total bill.
It's been a minute since we've talked grocery stores..It seems like all my old favorites have doubled their prices since 2020 - anyone else feeling the squeeze?
Used to love Mr. Plum and Key Food but some of their prices lately have me questioning if I should switch it up. Where are you going for reasonably priced produce and pantry staples these days?
I’ve actually heard that Whole Foods has decent prices but I’m curious to see what yall think. I’d love to shop more locally though, any thoughts on that farm to people thing?
Where/What is the cheapest store to buy my groceries/produce from in Brooklyn? My friend says Trader Joe’s but I thought maybe there might be a better option?
I bounce between value center in Madison Heights and Hollywood markets.
I like Westborne for an occasional trip – my gf swears by trade joes.
I think for groceries you can beat Aldi but like TP and other household items I think are pricy.
Where do you guys go?
I get ads in the mail for so many supermarkets it's overwhelming. More specifically: I buy frozen fruits, Greek yogurt, fairlife milk, and Prepackaged health foods and precut fruits. What's the best supermarket/cheapest supermarket?
El Super, Amazon Fresh, Vons, Food4Less, Vallarta, Smart & Final, Superior Grocers, Ralphs
For those of you on a budget who enjoy home cooking & freezer meals /meal prep -
Where do you shop for things like vegetables, fruits, and meat? Where do you do your weekly shopping, and what are your budgets for a month of food? Costco, Trader Joe's, Aldi's, Food Lion, Walmart... What's the best value/price combo you've found?
Thank you!
pls don’t gate keep I’ll be forever grateful to u
Hey All, Just trying to find out what's the cheapest grocery store for everyday things. I found different things cheapest at different stores so wondering what does everyone think and where do they shop.
Wegmans - Canned food, banana, avocado bag, regular milk
Aldi - bread, chicken/meat
BJ's/Costco - whole lot of cheap stuff but the portion is huge for a small family/couple
Giant - don't see anything that's cheapest compared to others
Walmart - Frozen section/bread
Trader Joe's - reasonable for small portions and good variety.
Might add more to the list as I remember.
I've been shopping at Publix almost exclusively because I thought it was cheaper than other local grocery stores, but recently I've been told a few times that Trader Joes is cheaper. Where do yall get good yet less expensive groceries? Is Publix still the way to go, or are there better options? Thanks!
What are some budget grocery stores besides Aldi?
I just discovered Ruler Foods and it’s great!
Like the title says, where do you go?
Hey guys, I want to know what groceries stores you’re currently finding the lowest cost in Meats & Produce. I currently shop for groceries around the Mira Mesa area.
With the rising costs of overall living in San Diego recently and looking to start a masters program in the next two years, I really want to start budgeting and cutting costs where possible. I’ll also possibly be taking a small pay cut depending on what internship I can land (I’ll have to reduce my hours at my current job to do an internship). I’m really looking to cut costs to the absolute lowest possible in order save up.
Edit: Thanks for the great suggestions and lists ! As far as bulk grocery stores, those are a bit tricky for produce/parishables, since I have a small household. It’s is only my fiancé and myself (+ dog).
Feel free to drop any suggestions or direct to other Reddit threads on meal prepping/planning for grocery lists. It’s also something I’m working on, as having a plan reduces waste and is more cost effective.
As the title says, which supermarket in the UK would be considered the best supermarket to shop at on a budget?
For example, I only buy and cook food for myself and am on a budget. The closest supermarkets to me are Aldi, Lidl, Tesco and Sainsburys. I usually shop at Aldi as I like the selection, but I don't like how they don't have a rewards scheme or anything similar. Would it be worth shopping at Lidl or Tesco, to get these 'member' offers and potentially spend less on my shop? Or realistically is Aldi the best I'll get for my money?
Which shops do you guys shop at for saving money? Ideally I would like to just do my weekly food shop in one place rather than shopping at multiple.
Hi guys, I would like to ask where you guys buy your groceries from, as in which supermarket has the best bang for buck. I am currently studying at a London university so the majority of national supermarkets are In my general proximity, however, I do not know which one to go to. Thanks for any replies guys!
-
Aldi/Lidl (not much selection but is cheaper for most items)
-
Tesco/Asda (big supermarket's with everything you should need, will reduce stuff if you go in at the right time)
-
Morrison's and Sainsbury's (ok but more pricy than the previous 4)
-
Waitrose, M&S (avoid these unless you have lots of money)
Lidl and Aldi are the cheapest! Asda has lots of cheap stuff too.
Currently on a tight budget and looking for the cheapest supermarket. Dia, Mercadona, carrefour, lidl, aldi are my options. Many thanks, apologies if wrong place to ask
