Credit card was declined online and I want to see if it's the particular site or if something else is going on. Anywhere I can test? I was thinking make an order on walmart and then cancel but idk if they'd ship it as soon as the charge went through or if I had to wait a while for them to make the charge.
My personal bank who issued my credit card is closed today so I can't speak with anyone. They rendered it unusable due to unpaid bills. Well bills have been getting paid for the past few months (bank has actually been automatically taking them out on their behalf), so I want to know if I can use it again without actually trying to use it. I see websites that claim they can do this, but they need to my cc number. That seems shady to me. Thoughts?
I came home today to a debit card I never activated sitting in the bathroom. I never activated it because I had one issued at the bank instead of waiting a week for it to be mailed to me, it was mailed to me and it was sitting on my desk. I'm trying to figure out if I can see if someone tried to use it.
Hi I’m (24F), I was not taught much about budgeting and finance before. But I am learning through online means. I recently opened a HYSA with Capital One. I checked my credit report and it says I have over 2K in credit card debt but what I’m aware of is only a bit less than 700 dollars. How can I see all the credit cards that are opened in my name?
I also thought, maybe it’s the debt on a card that I am only an authorized user. But being an authorized user, am I responsible for this debt? I am thinking of calling the bank and having myself removed. Where can I go to see where I have credit lines opened?
Thank you so much.
Please excuse me, I haven’t gotten a new credit card in about 3 years.
Just received my CSR and US Bank Reserve today.
I remember back then you’d call the number on the sticker to activate. I see neither of these 2 cards have that. It just tells me to download their apps, and in the app I see my cards and credit limits, but I see no option to “activate” cards.
Does that mean it’s already activated? Is that how it is now? No more phone calls needed?
I just wanna make sure they work before I actually try using them. Thanks.
I got my physical card in today, the animation won’t appear for me when I hold the phone to the package, and I don’t have any “physical card” settings option either, is it already activated?
Everyone talks about how scummy Credit One is and it is true. My own ignorance ended up in me owning 2 of their credit cards in two years (they offered me one with better benefits and I thought it would UPDATE my current one like Capital One did).
Anyway, I have finally called and after some hard pushing from the representative, I got both of them closed. After not seeing any confirmation email, I called again, they said I should have gotten one. I thought that was a bit shady so I demanded verification of some sort, to which he sent some sort of balance statement saying “As of the date of this letter, your account is closed with a balance of $0.00.”
Now my question is, how else can I make sure this is closed? I don’t trust them at all. And also, the Credit One app/website where you manage your cards, what happens with that information? Is there a way to close and delete the log in?
Like the title says, how can I protect myself and know if something was opened under my name ?
There must be a list of all valid cards, and if so, wouldn't this singular list be easy to hack?
So I have canceled a few cards in past but I still see them appear on few apps. How can I see my actual active cards?
I want to get a new Chase card but I know they’ve got that 5/24 rule. I’ve refinanced a student loan, bought a new house, and applied/opened a few cards in the last couple years but not sure if I’m above or below the 5/24. Is there somewhere I can confirm this info before applying?
